Anthony Johnson on Vitor Belfort fight: Somebody's getting carried out on a stretcher
Posted on December 6, 2011, 06:17 PM by Trent ReinsmithAnthony “Rumble” Johnson will make his Middleweight debut against Vitor Belfort at UFC 142, which is set to take place on January 14, 2012 from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Johnson, long recognized as one of the biggest welterweights in the UFC has missed the welterweight limit twice in his UFC career. In both those occasions, UFC 76 and UFC 104, Johnson fought his opponent at catchweight.
Perhaps having enough of the endless weight cutting or maybe relishing the opportunity to meet a fighter with the history of Vitor Belfort, Johnson elected to move up to 185 after defeating Charlie Brenneman in his last bout.
Johnson recently took some time to talk to Inside MMA about his move up in weight, as well as his prediction for the fight, which he summed up by proclaiming, “Somebody’s going to be carried out on a stretcher.”

Every guy is the guy to dethrone anderson. Next time he wins some guys should tighten their nooses and give us a rest.
Anyways, if this uy was afraid to stand with whats his face the british sensation, belfort should give credence to those fears because he actually does have great standup.

I hope Johnson stands by what he's saying this time and makes a stand up war of it, the last time he faced a good striker, namely Dan Hardy, he said he was going to stand and bang, come fight time he just kept taking Hardy down and ground out the decision, and so a fight that had the potential to be "fight of the night" became a snoozefest. Again, this fight has the potential to be an all time classic, but only if Johnson sticks to his word this time around. He should man because he has some great strikes and good KO power, it makes me wonder if he has a confidence issue, which he shouldn't really because overall he's quite well rounded. If there is anywhere he needs work i'd say it's his jiu jitsu but i'm sure he knows that too. This fight will be awesome if it stays standing, no doubt.....
Why neglect your ground game if it's better than your opponents.

This is gonna be a good fight nonetheless. It will show whether Vitor has better TDD, and whether he can handle himself on the ground
Well we both know Vitor hasn't had too much success there.
This is a great ****ing fight. Its really hard to pick. Plus its also a fight that will compare the WW and MW divisions. I've always thought the WW is better, these are two guys at the top of their divisions and if johnson wins, it might tell a bit.
I agree with what you all are saying. The fight against hardy he had a 16 month layoff and had to grind out a win. He even said that after the fight was over. I think this fight will be different than the hardy fight. Both guys are healthy and in shape. Hard to call but I'll take Vitor
This came up earlier today and Belfor said he has no intention to hurt his opponent, he just wants to win the fight...pretty cool reply if you ask me.
"He has no intention to hurt his opponent", just to punch him as hard as he can as often as he can until he hopefully separates his consciousness from his body causing him to collapse to the ground unable to finish. Hmmm, I gotta give this one to Johnson, Belfort is not smart enough to win.

This is a bad match for Vitor,Rumbles a good wrestler with a reach an could lay an pray this one.Then again Vitors always one punch away from winning.
