Anthony Johnson: If I could do things differently, I would defeat Vitor Belfort
Posted on January 18, 2012, 01:50 PM by Joey SantosusNow-former UFC competitor, Anthony Johnson, who was released by the promotion following last weekend's defeat against Vitor Belfort, reflects on the match-up, as well as the complications he faced making weight for the bout.
Still noticably exhausted, the enormous Middleweight speaks with Jon Anik immediately after his submission loss, insisting that, though he's not making excuses, his failure to make weight was "just a medical issue."

Rumble is HUUUUGGEE
The ref was really hating on his lay and pray gameplan. You can tell he came from welterweight
if he could do it differently, he might have tried fighting
dude looks bigger than Evans, a guy who cuts about 20 lbs to make lhw
Wish Jon asked him what protein he takes
I think Daniel Cromier had the same medical issue when trying out for the olympics in wrestling. I think w/ these fighters attempting to cut the amount of weight they are, they are bound to get ill...once.
I wish Rumble would go to 205. I think he is good, but after watching him against Vitor, there is still a lot to be desired. But, at 205 fighters tend to stand.
My only issue w/ this is it's Rumble's 3rd time. It's unfortunate, but if you're having such an issue making the weight YOU choose to fight at, then maybe you should go somewhere closer to your natural weight?
Everyone is different. Guys like George Roop who is 6' says his cut to 145 lbs is easy. He even fought at 135. But for a guy like Rumble, his cut looks unhealthy, and not natural. Roop can handle his cut, and to be honest, it doesn't look like he has to cut to hard.
Best of luck to Rumble.
I'm with you that he is unlucky to be ill but saying to the fans that he doesn't care was probably the trigger on him being fired, an apology might have helped.
He got what he deserved.
on top of that, I cant stand the prik
MY guess is he wasnt as big as he is now when he would always cut to WW, but it still cant be healthy dropping weight llike that. hes freaking huge
i rememember following his weight when he was fighting at WW, he walked around 220 which is insane, and when he was injured he weighed 250
AJ is one of my fav fighters...straight forward , no trash talking bs. i hope he makes it back to the UFC soon.
heard he asked for the towel at the weigh-ins.....
Million dollar body...10 cent brain.
Thank you so much for manifesting my thoughts... that guy is built like one of the Lycans from those Underworld films- *after* they make the change, and just as smart, lol.
If I could do things differently I WOULD MAKE IT WIEIGHT! see you never Stumble mumble!!!!
As soon as he got cut he gained 50 lbs in one night 8P

I am Shocked!!!!! Damn I though he was going to get submitted again. I totally did not see that coming.
I wish Bellator would sign him & match him against Lombard.
