Anderson Silva trains alongside Fabricio Werdum at Kings MMA (Part 2: Striking)Posted on April 10, 2011, 08:52 PM by Joey Santosus
UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva trains alongside Heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum and Light Heavyweight veteran Renato "Babalu" Sobral at Rafael Cordeiro's Kings MMA gym in Huntington Beach, California. Silva spends time sparring with Werdum and advises him on his preparations ahead of his bout with Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem, which will headline the promotion's June 18th card in Dallas, Texas.
This past February Silva extended his UFC record for most consecutive title defenses to eight by knocking out Vitor Belfort in the opening round of their UFC 126 match-up. Who the consensus pound for pound king will face next is unclear, however should Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre emerge victorious from his April 30th bout with Jake Shields, UFC President Dana White has stated that a "superfight" between the champs would be the likely scenario.
