Anderson Silva says Chael Sonnen should shut up and train, wrestles with Indigenous TribesmenPosted on February 8, 2012, 03:51 PM by Joey Santosus
With the long awaited rematch now set, it appears UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva has had enough talking out of Chael Sonnen.
Speaking during an appearance on Fuel TV's "UFC Tonight" show, Silva offered his adversary a word of advice ahead of their showdown, suggesting that Sonnen spends more time training and less time hurling insults.
"Chael talks too much," said Silva. "Chael needs to train. No more talk, train. Going to Brazil? Big problem."
Sonnen's trash-talking campaign predates their initial meeting back at UFC 117. Utilizing a wrestling-heavy gameplan, the Team Quest fighter dominated the Brazilian from top control for much of the five-round affair, only to be submitted with a hailmary triangle-choke in the waning moments of the bout.
Although an instant rematch had been penciled in following Sonnen's oh-so-close defeat, a series of mishaps involving both a failed drug test and legal troubles forced the Oregon native out of action for more than a year.
Interestingly enough, following Silva's unsolicited words of wisdom, a video showing "The Spider" engaging in some unconventional training methods of his own has surfaced.
