especially Anderson the training parter of Machida who thought Machida won all 5 rounds against Shogun...I never understood why reporters ask teammates about who is going to win and how etc, its obvious they r going to support there team....well almost everyone Cain said GSP is going to be champ for a long time, not giving Kos a chance lol
I'm Canadian....How did Machida win? He got out struck in the first and second round by Rampage and Rampage was more aggressive and had octagon control so first two go to Rampage, 3rd goes to Machida so if my math is right 2-1 means Rampage won.....if u dont beleive hears the link to the fightmetric's of the fght http://blog.fightmetric.com/2010/11/rampage-vs-machida-fightmetric-report.html
What does nationality have to do with anything? I am American and I feel as tho Machida won... Stop generalizing people based on something irrelevant please... Thanks.
There is a feature with YouTube called "interactive transcript" that you can click on... It will highlight each sentence as it comes out of a person's mouth. I think you will have to double click the video and actually go to YouTube to use it tho. Look beneath the video to the right. Just hover over and it should say "interactive transcript" when you have found the right one : )
Funny nobody understood what they're saying but you know they're saying Lyoto won, Maybe they're saying Quinton kicked his ass fair and square...well, i doubt it ok lol
I think Anderson put it best when he said and I quote..."something, something, something, something, something, something." All while shaking his head from side to side, as Rizzo nodded his head in agreement, that the two of them disagreed with the split-decision victory of Jackson over Machida.
Rizzo -"there´s no way Rampage won the fight, he came closer to ending the fight, Rampage barely touched him"
Anderson - "Lyoto was way better than Rampage, he almost knocked him out , but it´s difficult because we don´t know what type of criterion the judges are using to judge the fights, unfortunately it was in American territory, American ground, he fought against an American, and unfortunately he couldn´t knock out Rampage, and the rule stays the same, when you fight like Machida´s style, mostly walking back and counter attacking, you must knock out your opponent in order to win. Quinton didn´t pose any danger to Machida at any time, actually it was pretty much the opposite. So we, as Brazilians and friends of Lyoto, we are really sad, we know Lyoto won, even Rampage admited he lost the fight."
Rizzo - "I agree and sign the bottom, even Rampage signs the bottom, he admited he lost the fight, so there´s nothing else to say."
The only reason is because judges for some reason believe that when someone is moving back or playing a counter attack game they are retreating and therefore losing. Which is definitely not true and is a strategy. If someone is being stalked they can still be winning and that is something these moron judges need to know.
You're right that they can still be winning, but because aggression and octagon control are part of the scoring, someone actually has to be getting the upper hand on their opponent by choosing to retreat and counter. Anderson Silva, and incidentally Rampage, will often rely on countering as well, but when they do they have a tendency to rip their opponent's faces off. Rampage actually did a good job of nullifying Machida's ability to counter in this fight, and Machida was afraid to throw much of anything because he didn't want to leave himself open to Rampage's power. When he had the opportunity Rampage clinched him against the cage and controlled him. Even though he didn't cause much damage, he didn't take much either, and he controlled the fight.
Now, Rampage losing the fight as a whole is just a consequence of having a 10 point must system. There was a much larger difference in effectiveness is the third round than the first two rounds combined. This fight illustrates perfectly why Dana White hates it.
That is just a ridicules thing to say, so if its my strategy to avoid fighting for 15min I should win because I implemented my "strategy"? Hell no. I am of the school that making a sub attempt should be worth more points then a takedown and that aggression should be the ONLY criteria.
machida went for 3 subs, got to full mount in the last round and hardy got hit throughout the fight. his low kicks did more in the first then the missed punches of rampage. 2nd id give to rampage cuz of the takedown. very close fight but overall machida did more
I wish they didn't have time limits or rounds. Keep all the other rules and get rid of the judges. Then the fighters could actually fight it out till the end and we wouldn't have all this controversy.
You also wouldn't have sanctioned MMA bouts in many states including Las Vegas as the weight divisions/time limits/gloves were the main factors in getting mma legalized
anderson silva i do respect his high skill level! even rizzo ! but my silva is a cry baby at times! they know rampage won those 1 and 2 rounds ! silva vs sonnen fight didnt silva say his ribs were broke or smashed up! ha ha ha not! silva and sores made that up they always do! tell me this we all know how smart silva really is ! we seen him at the very last seconds of the last round snap on that choke! do you think silva would fight sonnen with smashed ribs ! not. any ways sonnen was pounding his ass up! i do think sonnen can beat silva too! and i can not wait for vitor too fight silva!
Fkn tards octagon control is for takedowns and takedown defense. It has nothing to do with agression. Maybe if some of you read the rules you would know rampage lost. Fight metric had machida win. When they put it in the 10 point system it was 2929. You nut huggin twelve year olds need to go play with your ufc dolls. Just liket the first shogun fight the reffs were paid.
3) “Octagon Control”: Dictating the pace, location and position of the contest using the following maneuvers:
a) Countering a grappler’s attempt at takedown to remain standing and legally striking effectively;
b) Taking down an opponent to force a ground fight;
c) Creating threatening submission attempts pass the guard to achieve mount, while on the ground;
d) Creating striking opportunities, while on the ground.
Rampage did zero of that in round 1. You guys are funny I love page too but I know he lost. The last round clearly was machida while round 1 is too close to call. Round two page just barely squiked by and did nothing with his take down.
big loss of respect for silva 'it's american territory, american soil, he's fighting an american'
every time i listen to a brazilian/filipino/portugese speak i get frustrated by their utter racism that stems from their overly jacked up sense of 'national pride'
Comments
i don't speak that language
call sonnen to translate it
LMAO!!! What happened to Sores translating? Did he get fired?
Turn on the CC at the bottom right.
What's this? Two Brazilians disagreeing with a decision that went against another Brazilian? Never. It's like listening to Wandys fight "predictions".
National pride overtakes common sense sometimes. Jackson won it, fair and square.
especially Anderson the training parter of Machida who thought Machida won all 5 rounds against Shogun...I never understood why reporters ask teammates about who is going to win and how etc, its obvious they r going to support there team....well almost everyone Cain said GSP is going to be champ for a long time, not giving Kos a chance lol
that´s exactly why you´re saying Rampage won, you´re most likely American. Watch the fight again, please.
No REALLY? They are brazilians DUDE! LOL!
Won the fight and lost the battle
I'm Canadian....How did Machida win? I'm Swedish and I really dislike America as a country, its an outrage that it was a split decision, Rampage obviously won.
i watched it 5 times and everytime i had rampage winning round 1 and 2 so maybe you need to watch the fight again
What does nationality have to do with anything? I am American and I feel as tho Machida won... Stop generalizing people based on something irrelevant please... Thanks.
Also, I'm English.
im irish....rampage won
im mexican.... rampage iss baaackkkk!!!!!
lol!
my portuguese is some what rusty.... would someone care to translate?
Translation: "Goo goo, ga ga . . . coo, goo goo"

@ JS
...always the brightest guy in the class.
thank you joe.... a very informative (and appreciated) contribution....
rampage won the fight they need to get over it!!
Funny nobody understood what they're saying but you know they're saying Lyoto won, Maybe they're saying Quinton kicked his ass fair and square...well, i doubt it ok lol
so does rampage, he was more shocked than anyone.
hypocrites, why didn't they comment the decision when Machida got his ass kicked buy Rua and won
um..ok
C'mon Son! this is some real bullshit... why would you post video that is entirely in portuguese and expect people to comment on it.
Most was informative.
I think Anderson put it best when he said and I quote..."something, something, something, something, something, something." All while shaking his head from side to side, as Rizzo nodded his head in agreement, that the two of them disagreed with the split-decision victory of Jackson over Machida.
At least that's what I got out of it.
I think its safe to assume they were dumbfounded just like me how it could have been a split decision, Rampage clearly won.
Meant Machida losing the fight as a whole. My bad.
needs captions in English or i just dont give a shit !

I would like them to keep the weight divisions and gloves. Just no time limits, rounds or judges. That's it.

ok, whatever, it was a close fight, whether Machida won or not, he deserves a rematch.
big loss of respect for silva 'it's american territory, american soil, he's fighting an american'

oh Cain with mexico too, worst tattoo ever.
