Anderson Silva: Brazil deserves to be respected
Posted on May 28, 2012, 09:29 AM by Anton GurevichUFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva continues his preparations for the "Rematch of the Century" against Chael Sonnen. This time Silva spoke about the demand from Brazilian fans to teach Sonnen a lesson, claiming that he prefers to concentrate on a more realistic goal of just getting getting his hand raised at the end of the fight, which according to "The Spider", is enough to prove Brazil deserves to be respected.
"Everyone I meet asks me to beat the s--t out of this guy. I tell them 'Keep calm, I'll try', because if I say what I want to do, and it doesn't happen - they'll charge me. I'll do my part. I'm dedicating myself, but fight is a fight - anything can happen. In our first fight he was hitting me every round, but in the end he lost. Anything can happen. I'll train to continue the good results we've been having.
For us it's enough to win. Winning is enough to show that Brazil deserves to be respected."

Anderson pls beat the shit out of this guy...
Anderson, simply say Brazil's fighters deserve respect. That I'll agree with with. But to say all of Brazil is a rather bold statement. Ask Vitor whose sister was kidnapped and murdered. Regular citizens, Vitor included have to drive around in armored cars to keep from getting killed or kidnapped.
Yea, nothing bad ever happens in the US...no kidnappings OR murders, and ordinary citizens can totally walk around anywhere without worry....and DEFINITELY celebrities.
I bet you been there too, first nation of ignorance
Relax my little pitbull. Im not stupid enough to say America deserves respect. The govt here is a joke who sold out its people to the third world.
Before that, you could walk anywhere safely, not anymore, gangbangers, and drug thugs walked in from all over.
germany is pretty save
I like Germany.
I was born in Zwiebruken Germany!!!
@Entity. Brazil is also one of the fastest growing economies in the world. In addition to that, the main causes of the issues you raise (extreme poverty, no middle class, poor social policies) are slowly but surely being stamped out. At the rate Brazil is currently going, by 2025 they will be on par with Europe and North America.
Good luck with that thought.
Brazil should be respected? Anderson is actually taking Chael seriously now?
Awesome, did you guys see the BillyBoy condom advertisement before the video? It shows nude chicks in a shower scene....I was surprised...pleasantly might I add.
ok, most had g-strings with soapy butts, but thats cool too.
Greatest Ad I have seen in a long time.
god damn it! i have add block ._.
Thanks. Now that you have pointed it out it is gone :(
Just refresh your page 8))
Don't worry Yall, its still in my spank bank
It should
I like the part where everyone who meets him wants Chael to get his ass kicked. If you submit him instead of knock him out dont let go of the hold until hes hurt enough to not be able to act like he's somehow the best.
Looking forward to seeing Anderson whoop that TRT clown Sonnen... Sports Photographers don't miss that perfect shot...
Cheating racist clown would be more appropriate.
I'd love to see A.S beat the sh...out of that pathetic Cheating S.O.B.
It's a two way street. I do not respect any country, or a population, but i respect an individual.
Well said, and there is no reason to dedicate everything you do to your country. Soon we'll see them taking a crap and saying that was for Brazil too.
I love how Chael talks so much sh#$ and Anderson comes back with ”Brazil deserves to be respected.” Two completely contrasting individuals!
Chaels hyping a fight and Anderson takes it all serious as a heart attack, its pretty funny actually, Im sure Chael laughs too.
I wonder if ring rust would be factor here for AS
How much pressure is on Anderson Silva to deliver in this fight.
You hear about guys in Brazil who miss soccer goals that get death threats along with their coaches.
Anderson seems very cautious coming into this bout.
If Chael Sonnen had the type of ground and pound that cain valesquez has then you would be picking him for the win. I think Anderson can take this fight because we haven't seen the nastiest ground and pound from Chael. His shots are good and draining, however they haven;t been devastating enough to stop bouts in recent times
"You hear about guys in Brazil who miss soccer goals that get death threats along with their coaches."" dont worry, Choke says they'll be a world power in a couple years, Im sure that will all fall away....yea...
i just heard some rumors, that AS might injured his knee. but he allready tweeted that there is no danger for the event in july.
