Alessio Sakara out of UFC 122 co-main event against Jorge Rivera

According to MMAJunkie.com, Alessio Sakara was forced to pull out from the UFC 122 co-main event bout against Jorge Rivera:

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today learned from sources close to the event that just hours before he was scheduled to step into the octagon, Sakara was suffering from flu-like symptoms and has been forced to withdraw from the fight.

UFC officials have since confirmed the late change.


Lightweight collision between Duane Ludwig and Nick Osipczak was promoted to the main card of the night. Lighweight contest between Dennis Siver and Andre Winner will serve as the co-main event attraction of the night.

    I feel bad for Rivera...Time is not on his side and I'm sure he worked hard as shit in preperations for the fight.

    I won't be surprised if Sakara gets cut... They've almost done it like 2 or 3 times now since he has been if the ufc but if he doesn't fight soon Dana might give him his walking papers. I'm not saying it will happen I just have a feeling it could happen.
