Comments
very good card, interested to see how cole miller does, hes won his last four fights with a different submission each time...kinda feel sorry for grispi having to go up against mini anderson doh
hey hes not mini anderson until he starts dancing around like a jackass and giving us crap fights, but this should be pretty interesting dont count grispi out but it will be a tuff oe for him thats for sure
awesome Card!
but Vera vs Thiago on prelims? come one!
he need heavier guys to make more solid the card and Vera vs Thiago is perfect , i like Leben but his fighting an unknow fighter!
@rigo
Vera and Silva are both coming off losses if your not a house hold name or big draw and loose fights thats what happens
did anderson showboat when he first became famous in the mainstream? nope he didnt, give aldo time, when ur as good as these two guys are sometimes they mess about...also have a look at the first round of the gamburyan fight, i tot i seen a glimpse of arrogance, but im not complaining aldo is a phenom all credit to him
youre right, shit silva was one of my favorites but then came ufc 112 since then **** him (that doesnt mean that hes not one of the best in the world) and asa far as aldo i dont think it was arrogance but he was being a bit more cautious than in his other fights.
I always thought Aldo more of a Shogun but that doesn't matter....I think Aldo will KO Grispi most likely 2nd round, can't wait too see Gomi and Diaz fight, 3 of my fav fighters on the same card, its going to be sick, not to mention the Vera/Silva fight, hoepfully it is a stand up war, only thing that could have made this card even better would have beeen Mckee vs Sherk
phil baroni????
Mr. Excuses Brandon Vera is back too, WTF?
SICK CARD!!
I haven't seen much of grispi, but his record suggests this won't be a walk in the park for Aldo like some seem to think.
Grispi is a very good fighter, and should give Aldo his toughest test to date.
Right now it looks like Aldo will walk through everyone.
Aldo is special no doubt, but there is good competition out there for him which won't be easy no matter how good he is.
Sick card, I'm a little surprised they actually gave Grispi the shot tho. He definitely deserves it but he is still very young and could have used a few more fights, i feel a little like the UFC is just trying to showcase Aldo by feeding Grispi to him. ALTHOUGH, i feel like this is sort of a "trap fight" for Aldo and I have a funny feeling Grispi is going to cause him some problems. I've watched Grispi fight, and even though he stood up with hominick who is a good techniqual striker, and held his own, his standup is light-years behind Aldo's. BUT, he is one of those guys that just looks comfortable in every position and finds a way to win. I'm predicting this is one of those fights that just somehow ends up on the ground, and for the first time we will see how Aldo does down there.
Hmmmmm, Vera and Silva go from both headlining cards, to being on the prelims... Anyone else kind of upset by this? Hopefully it will be on Spike at least.
I'm just hoping for a quick KO in the Leben and Gomi fight so they can show Vera/Silva on PPV as the time filler fight
Heck yea. Another reason I like finishes.
Nice 2 championship fights in 1 night! Love it!
Why is Vera vs Silva on the prelims?
Card is too staked, even Cole Miller is in the prelims...UFC should have kept one or two good fights for the TUF finale or that Fight Night for Troops thing
but I think the reason they've built a really good card is because the main event of Edgar vs The Blanket is not gonna sell many ppv's, so the rest of the card should make up for it even if Frankie vs Blankie ends up bein a snooze fest........
I'll pay to watch Edgar fight anytime. He is among the top 5 or 6 MA fighters in the world today. Idiots can lump out their dollars to see their false hero Brock Lesnar, but if it's skill your after Edgars got it in abundance, despite the likelyhood Maynard will beat him. His footwork and timing are superb, he hits without getting hit alot of the time and 2 victories over BJ still haven't got him the credit he deserves. If you watch some of his fights back you will see how he gets in and out alot in the stand up and can also stand in the pocket and avoid the punches. If he beats Maynard I expect him to dominate the rest of the division.
Love "The Blanket" haha! Fighters like that make me want to fight. Its not like I would get hit a lot in the face.
