It wasn't PED's, people are saying he was talking high levels of testosterone but if you watched the hearing it wasn't testosterone, it was a testosterone based accelerate, which does show high levels of testosterone but does NOT affect adrenaline, which is what testosterone used as a PED would do.
Nevertheless, it caused him to fail the test, and we didn't know what the case was until the hearing. Combined with the other factors (pre-fight and in fight), sonnengate was by far the most controversial event in MMA for 2010.
