Vadim Finkelstein: Mousasi was never under contract with M-1 Global
Posted on March 5, 2010, 08:37 AM by Anton GurevichM-1 Global boss Vadim Finkelstein revealed in his interview for mmanews.su that he was surprised by the actions of the current Strikeforce Lightheavyweight Champion Gegard Mousasi, who decided to part his ways with M1-Global. Finkelstein stated that "The Dreamcatcher" was never under contract with M-1 Global, who had only "friendly relationship" with the Dutch Kickboxer:
"Gegard Mousasi was never under contract with M-1 Global. If he had a contract with us, I can assure you that he could not leave the organization so easily. Where would he go? He is still under contract with Dream and Strikeforce. We used to say that Mousasi is M-1 fighter, because he was starting in our organization. Mousasi and Fedor are a very good friends, as we helped to him to grow and to promote himself around the world. I am planning to meet with him next week to clarify the situation and to listen to his side of the story."
Speaking about the Pound-for-Pound King Fedor Emelianenko, Finkelstein stated that the rumored financial dispute between M-1 Global and Scott Coker's Strikeforce promotion is only a "technical issue", revealing that Fedor will probably fight sometime in May:
"Fedor will fight. We are planning to show the fight in 100 countries and want everything to run smooth. That is basically why we had to postpone the fight. Unfortunately, I don't really know the exact day when Fedor will fight again, but I think that it might happen sometime in early May. Obviously there are always disagreements and technical questions, but I am sure that it is completely natural as everyone deals with those problems."
Strikeforce are planning to present a stacked fight card in St. Louis, Missouri at the Scottrade Center on March 15th. Andrei Arlovski vs Antonio Silva and Brett Rogers vs Alistair Overeem (For the Strikeforce Heavyweight Title) bouts have been already confirmed by the Strikeforce management, with no official announcement regarding the fight between Fabricio Werdum and Fedor Emelianenko just yet. Fedor's last fight was a Second Round TKO victory over the ambitious Brett Rogers four months ago, on November 7th.

Hopefully M-1 will Die soon!
I find this hatred for M1 really strange, what exactly is it they have done that is so bad? The UFC is the problem here, not sure how people fail to see that.
