Daniel Cormier continued his impressive run in Strikeforce with a dominant performance against the veteran Jeff "The Snowman" Monson. Cormier won all three rounds, on his way to a 30-27 Unanimous Decision victory.

Cormier's biggest strength coming to this fight was without a doubt his wrestling. But the American Kickboxing Academy product decided to choose a slightly different gameplan by standing with Jeff Monson during all three rounds. Monson had a very hard time matching Cormier's speed, and was forced to stop punches mostly with his face. The Snowman got wobbled by Cormier on numerous occasions, but still managed to stay in the fight, eventually bringing it to the judges’ scorecards.

In the end, Cormier wins without landing a single takedown in this fight. The Olympian is now 8-0 in his MMA career, and definitely looks as one of the brightest stars on the Heavyweight horizon. Daniel Cormier vs. Chad Griggs makes sense.

Melted isn't the word, beaten into a puddle is more accurate.

This fight just showed how suck up and bias the SF commentators are, especially Mauro Ranallo. They give massive props to one fighter, such as Daniel Cormier tonight (they are at their peak with Herchel Walker) and just note how bad the other one is.

Good showing from Cormier tonight in any case, looking forward to his next fight as I'm sure it will be a big step up in competition.

Big props to Monson for taking the fight, I hope he drops to 205 and does well there.

If Cormier ever makes the cut to 205, he could ragdoll some dudes.

The last opponent Monson beat that had a name for themself was in 2009 against Roy Nelson.

Other than that fight ... he always loses when he fights someone that most people have heard of - pedro Rizzo, Forrest Griffin, etc...

I like the dude .. and he looks bad ass scary.

But he just isn't a top ten fighter.
