Strikeforce Rockhold vs. Jardine Fighter Salaries: Robbie Lawler, "King Mo" Lawal lead payrollPosted on January 9, 2012, 01:15 PM by Joey Santosus
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the final salary figures for fighters competing on Saturday's Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine card from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Topping the payroll with $150,000 was heavy-handed veteran, Robbie Lawler, who improved his overall record to 19-8 with a well-timed, flying knee TKO victory over Adlan Amagov. The impressive nature of the win, which snapped a two-fight losing slump for "Ruthless," puts him atop the list of contenders in the promotion's otherwise shallow Middleweight division.
Not far behind was former Light Heavyweight Champion Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal, who earned $95,000 with his second-round stoppage victory against previously unbeaten prospect, Lorenz Larkin. The win marks Lawal's second straight, and, as the division's former champ, puts him in line to challenge for the title, which was vacated by Dan Henderson in 2011.
