Strikeforce Results: Tim Kennedy chokes out Melvin Manhoef

Manhoef enjoyed a good start by defending Kennedy's first takedown attempt, and knocking down the American Hero with a vicious left leg kick.
But this was just the beginning. Kennedy managed to push Manhoef to the fence, and from there, it was a short way to taking the fight to the ground. Tim Kennedy began to work his ground and pound, as Manhoef gave up his back several times. Kennedy saw the opportunity, and locked a perfect rear naked choke, forcing the Dutchman to tap out.
Tim Kennedy is now 13-3 in his MMA career, as Melvin Manhoef suffers third consecutive defeat. In his post-fight interview Kennedy called out Robbie Lawler, in what would surely serve as a tough match-up on way to a rematch against Jacare Souza.

mannholf started fighting mma way to early its sad to see a guy lose over and over again just because he lacks the basics tools. i think if he would of started in smaller fights and had time to build up his ground game he may have been a beast
The dude was great potential but it might be just a bit out of his reach, his take down defense looked good until he got backed into a fence, then his ground skills were horrible. If Mannholf could keep it standing he'd be a killer in the ring. It a bit sad to see such a huge waster of potential.
melvin standup is really great, he just needs to work more on his ground game and then he can become really competetive
Melvin look much better at takedown defence he should have a rematch vs Robbie Lawler as he was wining that fight
