Strikeforce Results: Marloes Coenen dramatically submits Liz Carmouche

Coenen met a tough opponent in the ambitious Carmouche, as "Girl-Zilla" walked through everything the Golden Glory product had against her. Carmouche ended rounds two and three on top of Coenen, raining down vicious ground and pound strikes.
But Coenen managed to weather the storm, and lock up a perfect triangle choke in the fourth round. Liz Carmouche had no way out, and was forced to tap out in what was without a doubt one of the most dramatic endings in Strikeforce history.
Liz Carmouche tasted defeat for the first time, but there's no doubt about her being a top contender in the WMMA scene. Coenen will now wait for Meisha Tate to recover, in what will be a unification bout between the Strikeforce Women Tournament winner, and the reigning 135-pounds Champion.

Weird fight, but very entertaining. She was mounted twice, and survived, that tells me that the women don't have that KO power like men do, which is sad, because it would have been stopped because Liz was beating her up pretty good but they were just arm punches. I think Liz or Marloes would have a good chance against Shields in a stand up fight...
Surprised at many opportunities for Carmouche to go for a submission from the mount, perhaps she's not too versed in them.
The ground n pound... she should have picked her shots, would have been more powerful and precise.
Coenen....very good victory, set up for the triangle was very nice.
I love Marloes Coenen.
If she attempted a triangle on me, I am not sure I would want to defend against it.
