Strikeforce Results: Tarec Saffiedine dominates Scott Smith
Posted on July 30, 2011, 09:43 PM by Anton GurevichTeam Quest product Tarec Saffiedine showed an improved MMA game with a dominant victory over "The Hands of Steel" Tarec Saffiedine in the main card of opener of Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson.
Saffiedine was in control against Scott Smith during all three rounds, thanks to well-timed striking and excellent game at the fence. Smith was unable to execute his gameplan, and in fact, looked slower and slightly sluggish in the cage with Tarec Saffiedine. The Belgian fighter had an opportunity to win the fight on several occasions, but Scott Smith's heart kept him in the game, although it was far from enough to change the turn of events in this fight.
Saffiedine successfully bounces back from defeat against Tyron Woodley, improving his MMA record to 11-3. As for Smith, it's a third consecutive L for "The Hands of Still", and definitely the lowest point of his MMA career.

I feel bad for Scott Smith, god guy and he seems like a hard worker but he just can't break bad habits.
Smith was picked apart tonight by a sick and slick Tarec.
props to tarec, just a correction "hands of steel" still nice review
lets be honest, smith is where he is cos he can take punishment and hang in there,he is not a great fighter, not technical at all. He rushes after people, wanting to brawl, but against cung was a prime example of what happens when he meets someone techincal, yes i know he got the w first time around but he was completely domintaed by skilled striking but hung on and somehow got the win, the re-match he just got hurt again, and Against benji was another example, he was getting hurt badly but managed to hang on then basically land one good shot, couldnt manage to hang on against daley though, he chased and was ko'ed in a sick way. His style maybe exciting for the fans but its certainly not smart, absorbing all the punishment then hoping to land 1 good shot, his brain cells are disappearing fast. He should be cut now. The guy gets battered even if he wins,
