the challenger made 220 000 more than the champ with no win bonus...wow ha
Hendo over paid or everyone else underpaid??
I think without knowing the insand out of the financial side of strikeforce my initial thought is this is the path you take if A) your desperate for a big draw fighter which i dont think hendo is and before you weak it im only saying this is because most of his career was fought over seas. And i dont want to hear anything about hardcore fans because thats another term whats old and needs to be dropped if this sport wants to shread the image of cult object to world dominator.
Or B your trying to Don king this sport.
I cant see a long future for strikeforce anymore unfortunatly with fedor losing and the questions over the tournament . If it goes bust (or even if it doesnt) UFC should set up minor leagues up and down the country possibly even world instead of just sitting back and laughing
wow Hendo made 250k in his last UFC fight, not including his KO bonus and secret bonuses, he's making less money here.
i think you misread hendo was already earning that much money in the ufc
the undercard is still horrible after fees and taxes your not even left with enough cash to buy a 92 for escourt

250 grand is a nice payday, but I wonder about the reasons for Hendo leaving the UFC.
I strongly doubt there are private payments to Hendo as the UFC routinely does--because I don't think Strikeforce has that much money.
On the other hand, Hendo did not win a championship in the UFC in LHW or MW and was unlikely to, so he probably is making as much in Strikeforce as he would have without the belt in UFC---and he does not have as many strings tied to him as far as fighting for other promotions or giving up rights to his image for games and dolls.
i think some of hendos money needs to be paid to the other fighters, im sorry but he is not worth that kinda cash. good for him i guess though.
Even in the UFC, the purse a fighter makes is largely dictated by his drawing power. Without Hendo's name--this card would have been difficult to promote. It might not be fair, but it is a fact of the fight business.
Rather than Hendo making less, I think the other fighters should make more. For a 100 grand more, Strikeforce could have added 5 Gs to the purse for every undercard fighter. I gotta think Showtime and Strikeforce are making some money in all of this..
or if they only paid him 150k, everyone knows he got paid that double in bonuses and endorsements. my point was just that the other fighters on the card, deserved a bigger pay day.... strikeforce is making some decent money now with all the viewers.... its not struggling anymore like alot of us had thought
Good for Hendo! That's some MAD cash!
Well deserved.
kinda makes you wonder why would you want to fight in strike force only 5-6 guys in the whole orgsnization are getting paid competitieve salarys
i think manhoef and the women are underpaid. the rest are making pretty good. and there putting up great fights. go strikeforce.
The women salaries are actually up, Conen made 5 times more than her last fight with SF
i think manhoef and the women are underpaid. the rest are making pretty good. and there putting up great fights. go strikeforce.
@ Jamo: "Rest are making pretty good"? These SF paydays are joke. 1,5K for undercard fighters and Coenen making 10K? Cavalcante gets 28K?
People who hate UFC: Atleast they pay their fighters. 1,5K for few months of training camp + all other work on the gym + time when you wait your next fight = Motivation 0.
Well, I quess that they must have pretty good sponsors or rich wifes.
Only reason i watched it was Hendo... He's a legend and im sure 6 years ago he wasent getting paid like this, Im glad he got a BIG check !
This reminds me of the UFC 5 years ago. Tog guys were making the money while the smaller guys made scrap and eventually things began to improve and fighters started to make more, even the under card. I hope some of these fighters can hold on and keep fighting and they will slowly begin to increase their pay + plus most of the guys are signed with sponsors etc. we don't really know "exactly" how much they are getting paid, a guy might be making 1,500 but his endorsements might make him 5,000, which isn't much but it ain't horrible. Lack of money is probably the best way to weed out fighters that just want to make money rather then the athletes whom love to fight. Which pretty much goes for all arts whether it be martial arts, music, art, drama, dance, etc. Money is a great motivator to weed out people that are dis genuine to the act.
this is incredible, dont you all see that these guys pay just as much as the ufc and they only have like 7k in attendance and dont sell a million ppv buys. ufc better step up.
$10K for her title defense?
this make me want to puke
I am heartbroken for Marloes
If SF is going to Pretend to be promoting Women's MMA
they should reflect their sincerity on the paycheck.
This is yet another sign that on the bottom line
SF is still bush league
A quarter million for Dan is mearly keeping pace with what he was earning at the UFC Before he came to SF
No wonder the rumors are floating about Santos
Hasn't fought since Jume?
What? Are they waiting for glamorpuss to come back
so they can reap the harvest ov fight two?
I will refer you to the Don King legacy: keep fighters sitting for a year at a time and no matter how talented they are they get stale-rusty-old over night.
Six months is a long time to sit and twiddle your thumbs and more than that is a career-killer.
Keep you fighters fighting Scott my boy,
forget the manufactured "drama"
just put two fighters in the cage
and do it often
