Mixed Martial Arts legend Fedor Emelianenko and Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva will headline the stacked Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva fight card, set to take place February 12th from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.  The event will kick-off the promotion's highly anticipated Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament and will also feature Andrei Arlovski and Sergei Kharitonov battling it out in the co-main event.

Below are highlights from Thursday's Media Conference Call, featuring quotes from both Fedor Emelianenko and Antonio Silva:

Fedor Emelianenko:

- "I made an error in my previous fight...but nothing has changed inside of me. I train harder and hope to do better in my next fight."

- I'm very proud to be in the tournament. Very proud to represent my country.

- I'm happy to fight anyone. Silva is a very tough opponent. We've crossed paths in locker rooms. He's always been very cordial.

- This tournament is just as good or better than the Pride tournaments.

- I wouldn't mind training with someone like Shane Carwin, but I will probably be training in Russia.

- If people think they've found my biggest weakness, let them try to exploit it.

Antonio Silva:

- "Fedor is a legend. To be a legend, you must beat a legend & I'm ready to prove that I'm the #1 heavyweight in the world!"

- For me, fighting Fedor is the final.

- Werdum showed Fedor's weakest aspect is rolling on the ground.

- "I know I can beat him…at the right time God gave me the right fight"

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker took the opportunity to address many of the unanswered questions regarding the Heavyweight Tournament rules and regulations.

- The only five-round fight will be the final.

- The Strikeforce heavyweight championship will not be on the line.

- If any fight is ruled a draw, a "fourth judge" will determine who advances.

- If a fighter cannot continue in the tournament, a five-person tournament committee will determine a replacement from reserve bouts and eliminated fighters.

I can't remember looking so forward to a MMA event. This will be fun and hopefully UFC will follow suit in a tournament style event.

If Fedor can win this tournament, it will bring him back to the spotlight he deserves.

The fourth judge will be a SF official, and regardless of who he picks is the winner in the event of a draw, it will still go on both fighters record as a draw. His purpose is to pick a winner to advance in the tournament.

So if Werdum defeats Overeem and then goes on to win the entire tournament... Does he have to fight Overeem AGAIN to get the belt??

Or if Overeem defeats Werdum and then loses to someone else. Does the winner of the tournament still have to face him after the final, to get the belt?

Cause if that's the case then Overeem is getting waaaay to good of a deal. Because he's basically allowed to lose once without losing his title. And then he get's another chance to avenge his loss if that person makes it through.

    I'm soo confused...

No you're not confused, you got it right... It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense I guess... The title will not be up for grabs at any point in the tournament. So if Werdum beats Overeem, he advances in the tourney, but does not get the title... In order to get a shot at the title, they have to win the entire tournament. If the Reem wins, then no one gets a shot... Well, hypothetically no one gets a shot, but obviously he will still have to defend his title anyway. Listen to the audio if you can, it helps somewhat lol

its just like the Pride Tournaments , like the 2005 Wanderlei was the Champion and he enter the Tournament he actually lost to Arona and got eliminated , Arona got to the final where he got KO by Shogun in the very first round. so Shogun got the title of the winner of the Tournament but not the Pride Middleweight (Lightheavy weight) Title belt.

Shogun would have got the title fight vs Wanderlei but they are friends so Wanderlei kept the title.

So yeah IF Werdum beats Overeem and wins the Tourtnament

Werdum vs Overeem will fight after the Tournament but thats a big IF.

The same as in Pride. Fedor was the HW champion and Cro Cop won the Open Weight Grand Prix. I think it makes a lot of sense not to combine Grand Prix title and the regular title. The winner of this Grand Prix can fight Overeem for the super title.

I am really happy that Overeems belt won't be on the line. Back in the Pride days you had the Champions and the Tournament Champion would often made for a really interesting dynamic. And I think its important to keep the two separate.

This is an excellent tournament to start the new year and whats better it is will continue through out the year. Although it seems like Overreem has the advantage since he can lose in the preliminary round he will still be in action to defend his championship (perks of being the champion). I would not be surprise if SF does this tournament on a year to year basis but with different weight division obviously.

This is just awesome. Werdum gets his shot at Overeem to start things off. And then the #3 & #4 guys in SF go at it. The only thing i'd like was if Reem & Fedor were on the opposite sides of the brackets.

Not to long ago, many SF fans were frustrated because the top HW's weren't matched up against one another. We can no longer say that & i'm sure no one saw them matching up in a tourney. Kudos to SF for this power move.

The best part is DW has been quiet about this.because he has no comeback to this.the UFC HW division is nothing in comparison to SF HW division.they i.e. strikeforce currently have the best Heavyweight division in the MMA world.and the winner of this tournament is the true no.1 heavyweight in the MMA world.can't wait for it to get started.

On a side note. I can't recall anybody insulting Fedor. Overeem mostly blamed his management for ducking him, Werdum was very humble, and even more humble in his win. I mean only person to ever really bad mouth Fedor was Dana. It's kinda hard to insult somebody who seems like regular soft guy, unless he's inside the ring.

Lesnar has also talked bad against Fedor on a radio interview...that was back when he was still riding the Dana hype horse... now that Cane rode him like one he would sing a different tune I guess!
