I don't understand how Fedor gets 400G for getting beat....

Werdum should get like twice as much as that cause he beat the p4p best heavyweight fighter in the world

My problem with SF is they give their "big names" high pay win or lose, and no win bonuses. That's screwy.

It allows matches like Hendo vs Shields where Hendo comes to the fight and isnt in the greatest shape, and gasses after one round. But he gets paid just as much for losing and no win bonus so why would he bust his ass?

It's no wonder nobody cares about fighting for the belts - being a top contender does not yield you any more cash or bonuses for a win.

Why is Carwin only getting 40K with a 40k win bonus and NO % for PPV against Lesnar? That is going to be the biggest UFC Heavyweight bout in History! Explain that one!

Why would Cristine Santos receive such a low salary for her outstanding performance? The defeated Scott Smith got double her pay?? A gender inequality thing is going on........

How would fighters who recieve 1 or 2 Gs support themselves and their family, while at the same time affording good trainers and gyms?!!! A true underclass!!!

You have to think about which fights put asses in seats, and unfortunately women's mma is not quite there yet - especially considering how big of an underdog 'cuddles' Finny was.

The men draw the crowds and are in demand more. I am sorry to say but I too will watch the bottom of the pack in the mens division before I start watching the women at the top. More women need to get involved and remember she has a contract she agreed to. Thats why fighters like her get sponsorship if they are good enough.

yah i notice that too, its a good fight (well the referee is somekind a hardcore)

we can see the in equality of pay for the fighters who work hard and for fighters who are very famous. i thought UFC is the only one who do this :D

I can't any fairness about not giving Fabricio a win bonus....that is lame...

I also agree that it is unfair that there is such a great difference on the paycheck of the contender (werdum) vs the champ(fyodor), but pro fighting is bussines and as in everyother bussiness , factors such as experience, skill and name, all add up to a higher salary.

I also can't understand why there is still such a huge gap between the salaries of Pro Boxers and Pro MMA fighters... actually I do understand...I was going for hirony there :-p

Get used to it its the same in ufc Chuck lidell made 500k rRich Franklin only got 225k and thats with a bonus. The bigger names always have the best contracts and all fighters know what they will be getting paid before the fight nobody makes them sign there contracts

Because while Mayweather is pulling in $10million, the undercard fighters get a crisp $20 bill and a coupon booklet for their stay in Vegas.

DOn't worry about Werdum he will get some T-Shirt deal that has him Triangle and Armbarring Fedor.

Many of you guys think Werdum sucks. He beat the best in the World. I would love to see him in the UFC again. The man is 6'4 240lbs. and is a 2 time BJJ champion.

Fedor is still the best even after the loss. He will be a better fighter after this loss.

This is for all you halfwit whiners out there who always bitch about the UFC and how it doesn't pay its undercard fighters enough. BAHAHAHAHAH LOOK AT THE PAY DISTRIBUTION HERE BOYS! Nevermind the fact that the winner of perhaps the biggest upset in MMA history doesn't get a win bonus and Cris Santos made barely more than a UFC undercard fighter.

    Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum

    highest payout - $400,000

    lowest payout - $1500

    UFC 115

    highest payout - $500,000

    lowest payout -$7000

Not to mention that every winner at UFC 115 got a win bonus.

Strikeforce is a ****ing joke and you idiots who hate on the UFC for not paying its fighters enough clearly don't know what you're talking about. When is the last time a UFC fighter made $1500?

Calm Down man...you talk like you have invested in UFC stock-market shares and you try to protect them!

MMA fighters are still among the most underpayed pro athletes out there... regardless the organization their fighting for....

george, just because one org pays more than another, doesn't mean they are underpaying them =(

All I got to say is, if I ever get involved in mma I hope I make it to the top. Staying at the bottom too long would be shitty as hell!

That would explain why Barry was eating rice and ketchup for a long time, and why so many fighters fight injured because they fight paycheck to paycheck.

UFC offered Fedor 30 million for 6 fights, 5000 K per fight; that's 12.5 times more per fight than what he's getting in Strikeforce. But, he can thank M1 for that...

Well minus co-promotion, ticket sale, merchandise etc. He's probably making a lot more than 400k. And i doubt UFC is willing to pay 30mill, as far as i know UFC and M-1 did not release contracts for public view, i could be wrong though.

Is 6,000 enough to pay for Jan's medical bills? It should be in a fighters contract that the company pay for medical bills, it's only fair in my opinion.

It sucks to see a winning fighter gets ONLY a $ 3000 checks when fighters should be making a lot more IMO. What are they supposed to do with that money? that is pretty much fighting for free.
