I know, I've made this comment before, people always complain about how the UFC pays their fighters but none of the other organizations do any better.

Either Conen needs a better manager to get her more money or SF needs to stop being cheap and give there champs more than 3K

This is ridiculous for Coenen and the others. Coenen just fought for the championship against the best woman fighter in MMA, Chris Cyborg. Why is she only getting 2,000 to show and a lousy 1,000 purse to win? Surely Showtime and Strikeforce have a little more money up their tight asses than that. They are the ones putting on the show for god's sakes!

As the main event, Noons should have at least received the 40,000 that Calvacante earned with his loss.

    Shocking pay-day.

This is why SF wont last much longer.

3k for 3months worth of training? No way!

Add them all up thats $221k That means around 250k was left for the building and Croker?

Wow he really wants to keep SF alive.

He probably works at Arby's to supplement. HAHA

I think Noons is going to spend more on his hospital bills. He should've stuck to boxing.

People talk about the UFC because they dont know anything about the business. UFC fighters receive more as payout, way more from sponsors and when they reach the top, when they become champions and/or superstar status, they receive a percentage in profits from cable - thats were the big money is really.

As I said, people often judge the income of fighters in the UFC by the "purse" they receive with each fight, when in reality, they get way more from sponsors and other deals they have going just by the fact theire fighting at the UFC.

Strikeforce is still a small organization with less "high quality" fighters when compared with the UFC, but since MMA is growing daily, things may change and SF can grow to become a big organization like the UFC. Personally, I would really like that. The sport needs more organizations since the more there is, the more fights we get to see, which translates in more and better fighters... any fan can agree with that!

Also, SF should think about expanding to Canada because as far as I know, nobody was able to buy the PPV even and ended up streaming that! Maybe that'll help them pay their fighters better!

The purses were smaller because everyone knew not too many people would pay to see this on PayperView. Strikeforce usually has one huge event followed by several smaller events - this one was somewhere in the middle. No Fedor, no henderson, no Mousasi. If the same fight was on a card with any of those fighters, I bet Diaz would have made 100k just because more people would tune in.

A good point but still some of these paychecks were pitifully low. As in they should have been asking for donations or passing around the tip jar so the fighters could make some actual money. I suppose there is the possibility that they are getting a percentage, but somehow I doubt it.

Fedor is the only credible fighter....

Henderson aint crap anymore...thats the reason he went to strikeforce...he lost his last 2-3fights in UFC..and still gets his ass kicked by Shields and he was talking shit that he wanted to fight Fedor...are you kidding...

Gegard is good but he hasnt fought anyone real caliber people...he fought King Mo and got his ass kicked....if he fights anyone with wrestling ability..he will lose...no question.....

Diaz's brother Nate made 48k when he faught against Maynard..No Title Fight....

Nick defends his title and makes 50k....lol

GSP probably makes 4-5times more on any title defense than Diaz...

Strikeforce is a crock of crap.............lololololol

payouts reflect the size of the organisations quite well. diaz has nothing to moan about, noons/coenen sure, but you can bet as soon as their contract runs up and it comes to renegotiations.. coenen aint gonna be settling for 3 grand.

Where else is Coenen going to go fight that will pay her more?

Personally i don't like to watch chick fights .. just don't like the thought of women getting hit in the face .. but i wouldn't support a boycott either.
