That may be true , but IF Daley wins that could change

specially if he finishes Diaz a strong statement like a KO.

Then it will change the passion of the crowd and see their deafening cheers Transformed into demands!! For Paul Daley!

But again that's a big IF.

If Daley wins, they are gonna match him up with a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace that will sub him like James Toney. Look at some of the fighters that gave Dana White a hard time. For example, if a legit striker caused problems involving contracts, more tv time, whatever, Dana and company would make him fght a grappler. It's not hard for the UFC to build up a fighter and hype him up so that we think that person is awesome. Then they'll use that fighter to destroy whoever gives them problems. Just watch if Daley wins...you'll see...

I don't think a BJJ guy, a wrestler would be way more effective against Daley (as koscheck proved). It's weird how BJJ is not really as effective in this sport as it was a few years back. Hands down wrestling/striking is the most effective combo in this sport...only person where bjj wins fights in chamionship level is Anderson Silva. I don't know of any title contending BJJ practitioner that utilises it to actually win fights. Nick Diaz only uses BJJ to defend himself nowadays...he just depends on his striking to win fights.

all the bjj guys use it only for defence. its because their takedowns suck. Look how shields and faber grapple compared to diaz and florian. gsp would be much more exciting if he went back to his bjj roots and combined it with his wrestling.

Did u actually listen to the whole interview? Paul e-mailed Coker and discussed his opinions with him. It's not like he started shouting his mouth off saying "Coker ... ur a sell out!!". I like Pauls respect and attitude towards Diaz, this should be a very entertaining fight!!

@effu2. yes he did one sucker 1 punch, yes it was a bad thing, yes it didnt look good for the sport and yes he should have been fined or maybe a suspension but people are still going on about it but but nobody got hurt, yet a guy can fail a drugs test meaning he has the cheated the sport, taken a huge advantage over his opponent, also made the sport look bad, possibly inflicted more damage on his opponent, got paid for cheating and possibly won a bonus while cheating. Which is honestly worse?

I dont think its the case he acts like he did nothing wrong, he admits it but the point is, life time ban for 1 punch after the bell or 1 year suspension for drugs? I think thats why he might feel its a little unfair, thats all.

You know, part of me kinda wants to support Daley as a fighter, but I just can't. He's being a ****head, and unless he keeps winning, I don't see him lasting any time. He is, as UnderdogGreatness said, an idiot.

Nobody ever accused him of being mature. . .

Well, maybe someone accused him of it, but the charges didn't stick.

would you prefer him to be a corporate robot? He stated his opinions ... fair play. And at least Daley is a fighter that actually comes to fight ... unlike alot of other so called "fighters"! As far as Im concerned, he can say all the shit he wants, atleast he is entertaining inside the cage.

Corporate robot? No, show some common sense would be nice.

So far as a fighter, yes, entertaining for a kick boxer but it takes two to tango. No ground game = a boring fighter because HE HAS NO TAKE DOWN DEFENSE. He's to blame just as much as the "so called 'fighters'" you refer to.

He's one dimensional; guess I should have added that to my comment- thanks for reminding me.

Why exactly is Daley an idiot? Or why does he need to grow up? He is articulate and answered all questions honestly. I don't know why he gets so much hate. Maybe cos he is black or maybe cos he is British, but it sure aint cos he is an idiot. He already issued a public apology for the Kos incident and has been treated far more harshly than those with worse offences like Sonnen get treated. he has a legit grievance with DW and that is that. If you think he is immature or an idiot because he refuses to be DWs bitch so be it, I think you are all fools and Daley is a free thinking individual who has been hard done by the UFC and a very exciting all be it one dimensional fighter.

PS: Bisping is a victim of the WWE tactics that DW has encouraged be used in the UFC. He done nothing to Rivera or his camp who ran a hate campaign against Bisping and his family on the internet and Bisping gets all the hate when he reacts to it. Daley reacted to being wound up by Kos and apologised, get over it folks. Steroid cheats are far worse and are never provoked into cheating they do that without provocation.

I actually love watching Daley fight and I was sooooo mad when he had been cut from the UFc. he was 1 of my favorite WW's but I think DW made the right move given that steroids are worse they've already been addressed with people like Barnett where as Daley's was the 1rst of it's kind since the UFc went mainstream and it looked really bad on the UFc who was trying to show they're a respect sport not a BLOODsport

I see Daley getting subbed by Diaz and then fed to wrestlers (which he cannot beat with his terrible ground game/takedown defense) to destroy his record before his contract is up. It is starting to get really entertaining watching him raze every bridge he has ever crossed though.

I'm sorry, but I like the guy. I have a lot of respect for him, regardless of the Koscheck incident. As he said (paraphrasing), it's over, done and in the past. He has nothing to apologize for he has already done so; publicly. IMO - he should refuse to discuss the incident anymore; it's irrelevant.

As to the fight - he looks and sounds confident. I'm actually going to pick PD for the upset. Nick is a great fighter, but I think in the stand-up (on this one) he's dealing with a guy who is considerably faster, better and more powerful. I think for Nick to be successful in this bout, he will have to get PD to the ground and sub him. The success of failure of this fight for both combatants, may come down to TD & TDD.

Either way - I think the Daley is a great fighter, with great potential; win or lose. He is a great addition to StrikeForce-UFC; one that I hope DW comes to appreciate.

i see what you mean. im still picking nick by a sub, but its a good matchup for PD. im gonna compare it to siver against sots. diaz shot might be a little bit lacking for a guy like paul. i think he could outbox paul tho. but im intereested to see how daley uses his kicks. diaz will get the td eventually though is what im predicting, and the fight is over when that happens.

    @ Scrappy

Picking Nick is not a bad bet. I just think the fight, at least in the beginning (of every round) favors Paul. As to the ground fight, he has to get it there and I agree with your assessment of Nick's shot; it's not that great. My prediction is that Paul will be able to either stay on his feet or get back up. However, as you said, if he ND does get PD down there and he can't get up (quickly), then I give him no chance with Nick. Diaz will catch him and sub him in pretty short order. That would be my guess, at any rate.

No matter what - I expect an entertaining fight; even if it's short. Both of these guys are talented fighters and you can tell they both respect what the other one brings to the table; as they'd be well advised to.

Sticking with my prediction though. I think Paul is going to catch him and early.

    Cheers,

Daley needs to take some economics and business courses;lpo. Coker did the smart thing and sold the business while it was still profitable. If Paul doesn't like it, then he will just have to get over it, around it, or used to it because the deal is done.

You can sense how sure Daley is of himself in this fight. He's out there talking everywhere as if it's just a matter of showing up that he will whip Nick's ass and gain the title.

Oh how reality can ruin fantasy!

Diaz will stand with Daley and Daley will throw EVERYTHING he has in the first round, especially in the early part of the first. Daley is known for gasing early and especially when he ACTUALLY cuts weight...like he is supposed to.

Diaz by sub in the late 2nd round to early 3rd round!
