Cung Le and Scott Smith will meet in the long-awaited rematch, after providing an extraordinary performance at Strikeforce: Evolution. Cung Le dominated Smith, but “Hands of Steel” managed to bounce back and TKO the former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion. Le left frustrated, wishing for a rematch he now gets at Strikeforce: Fedor vs Werdum.
Hollywood star Cung Le was undefeated prior to his encounter against Scott Smith, going on an impressive 7-0 all-knockout streak. As for Scott Smith, “The Hands of Still” will of course look to prove that his famous victory over Le was not accidental, but he will also look to solidify his place as the top Strikeforce Middleweight ahead of the rumored 8-Man Tournament.

| Round 1: The rematch is underway, with Scott Smith coming forward! The fighters clinch at the cage... no dirty boxing so far, as the crowd is clearly behind Cung Le. Smith is very aggressive here, early on... keeping a short distance from Cung Le, not allowing him to use his kicks. Scott Smith is chasing Cung Le around the cage... but it is Le who leaves Scott Smith wobbling after a good straight left hand! Smith decides this was enough and goes for the takedown. Cung Le easily sprawls this attempt. Smith manages to get up, straight to the clinch at the fence. Striking exchanges there, but no one really connects. Cung Le with another punch, and Scott Smith is wobbling again. Good knee by Cung Le! Scott Smith is currently down, with Cung Le punishing him with punches to the ribs. The first round is over. Cung Le won it 10-9. |
| Round 2: Second round is underway, with Cung Le being a more aggressive fighter here. But Scott Smith continues to keep a close distance from Le, attempting striking combinations. Le with a fantastic spinning back kick, followed by a shot to the mid section! Scott Smith is down again... he slowly gets up and Cung Le returns it to stand-up. Another spinning back kick! Blood is pouring all over and the referee stops the fight! Fantastic victory by Cung Le! Sweet revenge! |

Should be a great striker's fest. I got Le on this one for the revenge factor. I think he'll throw everything at Smith but the kitchen sink.
Ah yeah baby, Cung Le is back.
