sounds legit Fedor has been out to hand injuries in the past, given how hard he hits im not surprised. i've actually allways thought that his hand injuries will end up taking him out of the sport, they don't sound like much when you read them as they occur but he has broken his hands multiple times and eventually doctors will just not ok his fights if he has a history of breaking a hand bone every other fight.

Watch the fight but turn off the commentary, you'll see it very differently. Shogun leg kicked and leg kicked but didnt do anything other than that till the last round, which it was too late. Shogun didnt go for the killing blow which when ur fighting the champion you have to win a decisive victory so u get that belt. Shogun didnt do that

We need to get better judges or fighters need to start finishing fights. Point, blank, and simple!

people need to stop talking about how turn off the commentary and u can see machida win, i saw that match witout commentary like 3 times, it was a closer match but shogun still did enough to get the decision

I watched it without commentary and could see MAchida winning.Mainly becuz when u fight a champion, you gotta win decisively and not leave it up to a 2-3 point span for the win. Shogun didnt do that. If you know anything about psych, listening to the commentors will persuade your look on the fight. for example, Machida and Shogun both came at each other, MAchida punches shogun in face, shogun leg kicks machida and i hear from Rogan "BEAUTIFUL LEG KICK BY SHOGUN" and i sit there thinking "how about that punch?"

takedowns gave very little points, submission attempts gave a lot. there was no ground and pound allowed so top position was not as threatening. fedor went for more submissions and had the better striking (where there was down rule like boxing). thats how fights were judged in rings.



just like evans and thiago silva fight. in japan, they might have given the fight to thiago because they dont go by a round by round basis but instead judge the entire fight and as thiago was closer to finishing evans, he would have been more favorable among the judges. two different continents, two different ways of seeing a fight.

And the machida fight looks completely different if you don't have the sound on. There's a reason kohsaka went immediately for the cut arona gave fedor.
