Quick Quote: Fedor Emelianenko says he "wouldn't stand a chance" against Klitschko brothers

Would you dare to enter the ring against either of the Klitschko brothers in the rules of boxing?

I think today.  I’m not ready for it. Probably because I never competed in professional boxing. If you look objectively, then I simply would not stand a chance.

In what sport do you think refereeing is better, in boxing or in mixed martial arts?

In MMA, the refereeing leaves a lot to be desired. I think that, for example, Alexander Volkov, has lost in his last fight, but the judges, somehow, gave a draw. While Americans surely won. Of course (finishing) would be better, but this does not mean that there will be such an opportunity. - For complete interview visit M-1Global.com

Looks like the MMA vs. Boxing question is still alive and well.  However, while Fedor may not be ready to take on the Klitschko bros. just yet, he will soon face the Brazilian contender Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in the first round of the Strikeforce Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament.  The quarter-final elimination bout between Emelianenko and Silva will serve as the headliner for the stacked Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva fight card on February 12th from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

If it wasnt for M1 he wouldve been in the UFC Dana gave him many offers and they turned them down thats why Dana talks shit about him because even tho he is a beast and humble M1 makes it seem like hes scarred of real comp but he prolly isnt....

Any MMA fighter would have a very small chance of winning a pure boxing match against the top boxers today. The same goes for boxers who try and fight in MMA.

True and Fedor doesn't really hve technical boxing so saying the HW champs of boxing would beat him in a boxing match isnt surprising

I think he said that on a world wide standpoint GSP is more famous than wayne gretsky. That would be true although in Canada I would say Gretsky is a bigger name.

11 weaks indicates 11 people who have not got a clue about the HW boxing scene. Vitali would be hailed as the greatest HW of our time and possibly all time if he was American.

Fedor is good, but I believe he has lost the edge. Today with the talent in the UFC I don't think Fedor has what it takes to beat the best. Hiding behind his managers company is a joke. Sure Dana Whites an ass, but guess what he's managed to sign people in his organization who hate him also. Its a business and as far a Fedor managers saying the UFC doesn't care about their fights. Tell me what company does. It's your job. Either fight, or find another profession.

what in holy hell are you even talking about? have you been living under a rock for the last month? if so, perhaps you are unaware that fedor is entered into a heavyweight tournament where he will be fighting at least one top 10 opponent and 2 top 5 heavyweights if he makes it to the final. he is most definitely fighting, and just because it isn't in the ufc doesn't mean he's not fighting the best. overeem, werdum barnett etc. they're all in the 10 best heavyweights on the planet!

What Strikeforce is doing isn't a tournament... So Coker finally gives us a heads up on who will be fighting this year and some how that equates to a tourney? Thats the same thing as determining contenders and defending the title against the fighter that emerges as next in line. The "winner" will have fought three times over the course of the year. Thats just normal... I dont get it really. Its just the Strikeforce HW division finally competing... And for some reason this is something special? So many people are blind to marketing, yet they talk about the UFC "hyping" things. I love all MMA and enjoy both promotions, Im just saying Strikeforce doesnt deserve a medal for finally organizing a division.

If Fedor win this comp he is no.1 again without a shadow!! He lost one fight his whole career and everyone says he shit. Why because he russian. You new UFC (not MMA) american and Canadian fans need to realise that Brock Lesner brought most of you new UFC fans (Again i say not MMA fans) to this sport and he got exposed as most of the real MMA fans said he would. To illiterate to you follys. If he wins this comp he is no.1 there is no denial no matter what Dana Shite says! He is a buisness man and even if fedor beat King Kong he would says he's 2nd rate! wake up you fools!! And all that bullshit Dana shite says about how Fedor has not fought any one lately. Aloski was ranked no.2 when they fought , silvia was a recent UFC champ which he lost to aloski. Brett rogers was a top 10 heavy weight and the best strikeforce had to offer. Just before the fight with werdum Dana Shite makes Fedor loose his sponser, alot of cash playing mind games. He's Cun* and you wonder why Fedor does not want to be a slave top him. M1 is his brand he co owns. They and not just a poster they have quite large events around the world but most you US fans only know about the UFC. It a bad FOXNEWS advert peps wake up. Dana is a pig in this sport. MMA could be massive! bigger than boxing if Dana would co promo with other org. Imagine a strikeforce UFC co event. They did it with Pride when the UFC was nothing!! Now they are too big for their boot. Imagine if the WBC, WBC and WBO did not let there fighters figth each other, where would boxing be??

Tottaly agree with you about SF's heavy weights, right now they are top of the food chain. UFC's heavyweights at the moment are below average, with Cain as an exception of course!

junior dos santos is not below average. he may not have a big record but he beat the bejeasus out of werdum, one of your "top of the food chain heavyweights". plus ufc has quite a few up and comers. all the strikeforce hw's are gonna retire in the next couple years

I forgot about JDS, he is defenetely NOT below average, he is very promising also but he still has to prove himself a bit. Plus his performance after the last fight against Big Country has left me with some doubts, but that is just me.

I agree about the up and comers but we are talking about the present aren't we? The future is uncertain.

When brett rogers was 10-0 he was in the top ten, he beat aloski and the rest where cans. But everyone at that time thought he was dangerous. Look at de santos record, it almost identical!

I agree with Fedor. The Klitschko brothers would slaughter him in a boxing match, just like he would slaughter them in an MMA match.

The debate is basically apples and oranges.

I'm growing tired of the whole debate myself. They're two completely different sports, end of story. There may be an MMA fighter or two that could successfully transition to boxing, and vice versa. We all saw Randy take Toney out like the trash, and Randy would get KOed in a pro boxing match. I think the real issue is that people wanna argue over which one is more credible than the other. It's one of those debates that won't end until MMA does bigger numbers than boxing, which won't happen consistently until MMA is legal in New York, thus slating UFC at Madison Square Garden, and going mainstream.

The whole MMA vs Boxing thing is like apples and oranges. Could a high level MMA fighter step in to the ring and beat a high level boxer? NO. Could a high level boxer step into a cage and beat a high level MMA fighter? NO. ala Couture vs Toney!

Thats not to say that some of the younger fighters could transition over and do well. they could with the right amount of time to prepare and have some natural talent or ability.

It would be much easier for a young MMA fighter to transition to boxing rather than a young boxer to MMA. Reason Being; there is just so much more training needed for MMA, and so many different disciplines to learn than just punching. MMA fighters need kicks, knees, elbows etc etc. not to mention a submission game and of course wrestling.
