Werdum earned a title shot, but in a classic example of SF showing how little their championships mean, that's not going to happen.
The match was not a championship fight. Therefore Fedor should NOT be getting an immediate rematch. The fact that Strikeforce wants to shows how unprofessional they are, and thats exactly why they are not larger than they are.
It's not the UFC holding back Strikeforce, it's Strikeforce holding themselves back. They are never going to be real competition for UFC until they start running things like professionals.
Apparently there is no such thing as #1 contenders, just favorites.
I think after this fight Werdum could get a title shot against Lesnar in the UFC :D
I do not think they should have a rematch right away..Overeem has no one to fight for another 11 months by the least and would have his ass in the breeze if that was to happen.
Then of course he would suffer from ring rust and would lose easier than normal.
They should still have a rematch, just not right away....
i dont think werdum was lucky, he executed a great gameplan, his BJJ was awesome

Suprise Suprise people want a rematch and they are certain that Fedor will win THE SECOND TIME AROUND. if strikeforce gives him this rematch before any other fights then sf is shit. Thats not a smart business move.....well in money yes but its not esatablishing sf as a dominant organization. Theyre pretty much sayin "were gunna ride this money horse till it dies THEN gunna beat u over the head with it".
It's a no!! Werdum earnt the title shot. If there's a rematch later on, that's fine, but it has to be after his title shot.
