Nick Diaz is not impressed with Paul Daley and Tyron Woodley

Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz defended his title for the second time, this time defeating Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos via a perfectly-executed armbar, just seconds before the end of Round 2. As the list of possible opponents gets shorter and shorter, Diaz will now face either the young prospect Tyron Woodley or the hard-hitting Paul "Semtex" Daley in his next encounter. Here's what he said about the possible match-ups (full interview at MMAJunkie.com):

Tyron Woodley

"I don't want to talk bad about anybody," Diaz said. "I don't have anything about him that impresses me. I don't know much about him. I hear he's a wrestler. So now that I hear he's a wrestler, it's whatever. "I'm sure he's got a lot of potential. Anybody that makes it in here to fight in Strikeforce has got a lot of potential. That's the best thing I'm going to be able to say about anybody wanting to fight me."

Paul Daley

"I see me putting punches on him, and maybe him taking me down, too, and getting caught in a choke," Diaz said. "He could run from me, and I could run him down, take him down, and beat him on the ground. I don't know. I could see that fight going a lot of different ways. I'm not really impressed with Paul Daley as a mixed martial artist. "I'm sure he knows what's going to happen if he steps in there to fight me. All they can really do is try to down-talk me and minimize what I've done in the past and what I might do to them."

Nick Diaz is currently 24-7 in his MMA career, enjoying a 9-fight winning streak. Diaz currently trains at Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, alongside Jake Shields, Gilbert Melendez and his brother Nate Diaz.

GSP would destroy Diaz like he destroys everyone else. Diaz' TD defense is very weak and even though he has great BJJ lets not forget GSPs is pretty good too, he does train with Renzo....and wen was the last time Diaz has beat a top 10 opponent or even fought one? while GSP has dominated pretty much the whole list

    Hahahahahahahahahaahahaha, you are funny, man!!!!!

Diaz isn't even close to GSP in mixed martial artist.

I really don't have anything against Diaz, but when people try to hype him up because they like his ghetto -style instead of looking at what he has done and WHO he has fought....

He doesn't stand a chance against GSP, and even Alves, Kampman, Condit and BJ would kill in the octagon.

He's good against mid-level competition, and even then he looks sloppe.

He's fight against Noons was some of the sloppiest standup iv'e seen, and they hyped KJ Noons up as being one of the best strikers in MMA, lol!!!

I hope he signs with the UFC when his (new) contract is up, so i can see all these Diaz nuthuggers realize how limited this guy really is.

Diaz is no doubt a much more rounded fighter then Daley, but Diaz likes to toy around with all the people he fights taunting and standing in the pocket and trading, and if he does like he did with Cyborg last nite Diaz could go nite nite Daley has BOMBS for hands. I know Diaz has a good chin but if he stands and trades with Daley I give the edge to Daley's hands

I agree but I think Diaz would take Daley down. I would pick Diaz for a 1st or 2nd round sub.

Diaz can submit Daley, and i think as the fight progresses he would be able to get a TKO.

Tyron fight is a lot more interesting becase Tyron has great wrestling, and he could control the ground for 5 rounds, but Diaz can also catch him.

I actually think a fight against Silva would be easier for Diaz. He'll do well in the stand up, will get him into clinch distance to pull guard or go for a trip, i'm sure he won't want to clinch with anderson for long though.

if diaz fights smart and takes it to the ground then daley should be no problem for him however if he leaves his hands down and sticks his chin out while talking crap like he usaully does. then he may get ko'ed

tyrone on the other hand is the exact type of fighter diaz has trouble with strong grapplers. although i belive diaz has improved his game since the ufc if you look at his record everytime he has fought a decent wrestler he has lost. i would give tyrone a shot at beating diaz but i think he is still to green to face a veteran like diaz
