Marloes Coenen submits Sarah Kaufman via Armbar to become a New Strikeforce Womens 135-Pounds Champion

Team Golden Glory product Marloes "Rumina" Coenen proved critics wrong, by submitting the previously undefeated Sarah Kaufman via Armbar in the Third Round of their showdown at Strikeforce" Noons vs Diaz 2.

Coenen landed more strikes than her opponent, as most of the fight took place in clinch at the fence. Coenen made a perfect Judo throw at the end of the Second, but it was Kaufman who ended up on top, landing serious bombs on her opponent. Coenen took down Sarah Kaufman again at the start of the third round, and again Kaufman ended on top, but this time "Rumina" locked a tight armbar that forced the referee to stop the contest at 1:59 minutes of Round 3.

But this was not the end.

The fight finished with a little controversy, as only a few people at the HP Pavilion actually saw Sarah Kaufman tapping out. Coenen immediately aplogized to Kaufman for I don't know what, before the Showtime crew rolled a replay that clearly showed the Canadian knockout artist tapping out on Marloes Conen's leg.

Coenen will now square off against the fan-favorite Miesha Tate, who won the Strikeforce Welterweight Tournament in August. Coenen improved her MMA record to 18-4, scoring a 13th submission victory of her career.

Kaufman got frustrated and became impatient when she couldn't find her range and it cost her the fight.

Sarah was mad cuz Marloes wouldn't let go when the ref initially tried to break it up, dislocating her arm! I think I'm in love!

In my mind Connen was winning the whole fight before and after she was taken down. I think that Sarah got to ****y and frustrated which cost her that fight, her perfect record and her title :P
