Luke Rockhold: We'll see what Keith Jardine can do on the ground
Posted on January 1, 2012, 09:10 AM by Anton GurevichNewly crowned Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold shared thoughts about his upcoming title defense against the MMA veteran Keith "The Dean of Mean" Jardine. Rockhold declared himself as one of the best grapplers inn the division, claiming that he would like to see how good is Keith Jardine on the ground.
The fight will take place next weekend, on January 7th, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is co-headlined by King Mo's return to the cage against Lorenz Larkin.

how come jardine getting a title shot?, his last fight was a draw, wich should be a loss anyway
Shallow division.
Jardine has good takedown defense, got a draw against Mousasi who is a beast. I think he will be seeing how good his standup is. And he is getting a title shot because basically there is no one left that is not in the UFC or has not very recently had a title shot.
I was thinking Tim Kennedy. But I'm not sure what he's been up to in SF lately. I haven't been following them as heavily as I should since the UFC takeover strated transporting SF champions into their octagon.
Tim has got a few decent wins together after that controversial fight with Jacare. I think his last fight was against Lawler who he had a good performance against. I think they just wanted to put the big name of Jardine in and I feel it's because it's his first fight at MW so they feel that his drop will improve him a lot.
Rite on Kieth. I remember the Lawler fight too. I just can't remember seeing him after that.
Luke described Jardines kicks as funky. That's spot on when talking about Jardines style of fighting.
With that being said,Rockhold will probably defeat Jardine.
Time for UFC to kick down some middleweights Sakara and Dollaway would be nice aditions to SF.
