Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has not stepped foot inside the Strikeforce cage since losing the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Title to Rafael Cavalcante on August, 21 of last year. He had been booked to fight Roger Gracie on July 30, but Gracie was forced to withdraw due to injury.  On Saturday, September 10, the two will meet at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, OH.

The matchup will pit Lawal, an accomplished wrestler against the BJJ that every member of the Gracie family brings to the cage.

A confident Lawal had the following to say about his fight this weekend, “I am anxious for the weigh-ins, anxious to get to the press conference over with, go to the afterparty once I win and I am anxious for the whole thing.” – read the entire interview at MMASucka.com.

Lawal and Gracie will fight on the main card, which gets under way at 10:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Showtime.

I know this is a step up in competition for Roger but I don't see Mo making it out of the second round. Gracie by sub.

We'll see. I think that he won't have to take him down. His reach advantage will frustrate Mo and Mo will take him down.

He won't half to pull guard, he'll go to deep half, sweep and sub. Roger's BJJ is some of the best in the world right now. Many consider his the best. The dude is 67-5 in BBJ/submission comps and 4-0 in MMA comps (all subs).
