UFC veteran and Strikeforce Middleweight title challenger, Keith Jardine, who will look to dethrone division Champion Luke Rockhold this Saturday night, discusses his opponent, as well as the critics who say he doesn't deserve the title shot. Jardine admits that he's avoided the negativity surrounding the match-up, and says that he plans to make it a "real fight." Photo: Francis Specker

"Honestly, since I knew that would happen, I haven't looked at any MMA media, I haven't turned on my Twitter, I haven't done any of that stuff, because I knew there would be a lot of negative energy out there. But, you know what? To all of those people out there, we'll see on Saturday. I'm very confident about the way it's going to look. I'm not even worried about it. I don't care. I know in my heart that I'm a new person at Middleweight, and I'm going to shock the world. I'm going to climb to the top of the ranks. This here is just the beginning for me. I'm confident in myself, I don't care what anybody else says."

If he beats Luke Rockhold, I think it safe to say he's the number 1 middleweight in the world.

I remember a lot of guys on the site on Jacares balls, talking about how he could be a challenge to silva, then rockhold beats him and he doesnt deserve at least a little respect?

Styles make fights guys. I don't remember anyone saying that Jacare would be a threat to Silva BUT what I said and stand by is that IF Jacare could get it to the ground (he can't), he could sub Silva.

Agreed! The majority of MMA fans respect Jardine because he's a gamer but what does it say about strikeforce if someone gets signed after winning only 2 in 7 and then draws on his first outing with them and that warrants a title shot.

I hope Dana sends some up and comers/older vets down to strikeforce to make it compelling again.

I always enjoyed Jardine's fights. His fight with Rampage was badass and very close. I hope to see him back in the UFC soon.

The amount of times Jardine has caused the upset I don't think him winning will ever shake the world. He always seems to fight 10x beter when against top level opponents, maybe he is just more motivated I dunno.

I think Jardine would look good with some StrikeForce gold around his waist. I hope he can pull off another upset. I want to see him throw some of those nasty leg kicks at the champ; just to see how Luke responds after a few hard ones in the same spot.

definitely looking at rockhold retaining the gold, but not putting money on it.. jardines game and strikeforce is more his 'level'
