Posted on May 25, 2010, 06:22 AM by Anton Gurevich
Former Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Josh Thomson will step into the cage for the first time since his defeat to Gilbert Melendez at Strikeforce: Evolution, against the MMA veteran Pat Healy. The fight will open the main card of Strikeforce: Fedor vs Werdum, as both fighters are looking for a victory that will ensure their place in the higher ranks of Strikeforce Lightweight division.
Healy fought who is who of his weight class, with impressive victories over Carlos Condit, Paul Daley and Dan Hardy, is definetly not a fighter Thomson should underestimate. Both fighters are well-known for their ground skills, as we can surely expect a very technical clash at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
