Jorge Masvidal on Gilbert Melendez: I'd go in there and knock his head off
Posted on February 28, 2011, 07:47 PM by Joey Santosus"I want to fight (Melendez). I want to get rid of Billy (Evangelista) before I call anybody out, but I think I'd do real well style-wise. I would not go in there and just try to dry hump him. I'd go in there and knock his head off. I don't think he'd take me down. That's just the way I feel. I think I'd do real good against him. - For more from Jorge Masvidal, visit MMAJunkie.com
It appears Lightweight competitor Jorge Masvidal (20-6) has his eye on the prize as he prepares to make his Strikeforce return this Saturday. Before campaigning for a title shot, though, he will first face undefeated prospect Billy Evangelista (11-0), who graduates from the promotion's Challenger series to welcome Masvidal back at the Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson event. While it will be the AKA trained fighter's first fight with promotion in three years, Masvidal is undefeated under the Strikeforce banner, with victories over Matt Lee and Ryan Healy.
Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson will take place March 5th from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The event will be headlined by a Light Heavyweight title clash between division Champion Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante and challenger Dan Henderson, while the co-main event will feature women's Welterweight Champion Marloes Coenen defending her title for the first time against Liz Carmouche.

I like his attitude, but I doubt it!
Masvidal is as good of defensive striker as there in MMA i dont know if he'd be able to stop every takedown tho. I hope he wins his next fight so we can find out how good he is aginst Melendez
By your statement here, I'm not sure if you remember or even watched the fight. Or maybe you just needed something critical to say because you are generally a negative person. Sure, he was a bit defensive, but its pro-fighting and he was facing Paul Daley. The guy is a natural lightweight, who was fighting a guy that could easily fight at middleweight. Oh yea, thats right, you hate anyone who cuts weight as well. Weirdo.
Big fan? You can't even spell his name right...
i think the winner of the evangelista/masvidal fight would be 1 win away from a title fight
