Herschel Walker forced to withdraw from Strikeforce: St. Louis
Posted on November 24, 2010, 03:29 PM by Daniel CassidyJust over a week until the event, Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker has been forced to pull out of the upcoming Strikeforce: St. Louis card. The former NFL star suffered an accidental laceration in training with Daniel Cornier, which requires mutliple stitches.
According to the official Strikeforce Press release:
“I feel terrible about this,’’ said Walker, who was cut from a knee strike while training with AKA teammate and two-time United States Olympic wrestling team member Daniel Cormier. “I know things like this happen in all sports, but I had trained very hard and was excited to be returning to the cage again. I hope to fight again as soon as the cut heals.’’
An announcement on a replacement is expected in the next few days. The card is headlined by a Light Heavyweight bout between Dan Henderson and Renato "Babalu" Sobral, while Paul Daley faces Scott Smith, and Big Foot Silva fights Valentijn Overeem. A Middleweight bout between Robbie Lawler and Matt Lindland completes the card.

Kinda glad, I dont wnt to see this guy fight....anyone see that inside mma special on team AKA in there they actaully called him a A-Star fighter like Cain, Kos, Fitch and Thomson...wat a joke
why the disrespect towards him... he is in great shape for his age and he wants to try mma, he is bringing good attention to the sport and should be given props... he isnt going to do big things but he should get respect....
Yeah he's in Good shape... but I don't see him being a legit contender.
Herschel is a joke... Strikeforce is using him like the Dems used Obama.

They both use each other thats usually how buisness life goes, SF uses him for PR, and attention, and Hershal uses them for charity. How can u hate a guy that gives his purse to charity. No one ever said he is the p4p king of a top ten guy. He is a guy that just wants to compete.
this is all just a publicity stunt my friend...... herschel is just faking an injury so strikeforce will set a fight up between him and Emelianenko Fedor...... my prediction of the outcome - first death in strikeforce...... ending their hopes of someday competing with the ufc....... sad......

I wouldn't say Hershel is a Joke it takes a lot of guts to step in the cage and fight someone especially on a big televised event. So all you haters that sit behind your computer desk and hate get a life; typing and fighting are two different things alot of you are not even fighters you are fans so stay in a fans place. I bet none of you would have the balls to fight Hershel walker.
i would fight him for a couple thousand dollars like any of the other guys fighting him are getting.
Its cool that he is trying out MMA but he is 48. He is too old to actually be starting MMA or have a successful carreer in general.
He really hope he doesnt return, he's too old and too inexperienced. A guy his age with little experience going against younger faster and stronger opponents is very dangerous for him. I want him to leave MMA for his own safety. Sure he won his first fight against a pussy who sucks but thats not enough.

i don`t get why so many people are hating on hershel walker. if you don't wan to watch him fight, don't. I never heard him say anything stupid or saw him do stupid things. yeah, his first oponent wasn't good but thats not his fault. I personally don't care that much about him. If he's for real, h'll show it. If not, okay, thats fine with me.
