The overeem we watched last night has the potential to defeat Fedor...He's bigger, stronger, very self-confident, and technically very sound...I don't think Fedor will be as easily bullied as Brett, but the likelihood of him losing is very high...:)
Overeem getting past one drugtests doesnt prove anything. Anyone that knows ANYTHING about steroids and HGH knows that they are taken in cycles and it doesnt show up in piss or even blood tests if timed right.

Fedor and Overeem are completely different fighters.....diffierent styles, different approaches. Fedor may have taken longer to finish Rogers, but that does not make him a less skilled fighter. He simply has a different way to win. I can't see Overeem overwhelming Fedor on the ground like he did with Rogers. Fedor knows what to do in that situation. He has faced the ground and pound of many skilled fighters and was able to come out on top with a submission or a sweep. Overeem is powerful, but Fedor has dealt with such power before, and I believe he will be able to face it successfully again. There is always the chance that Fedor could get caught, but all signs point toward a Russian victory.
this is going to be a very skilled fight. it won't be like a k-1 match or a grappling match. it's going to be an all out war. when he was in pride, i always thought overeem was as good as anybody for five minutes.after that he would gas and expose his weaknesses like he did against shogun twice, chuck, and little nog. now with whatever he's taking, he looks like he can keep that pace longer and cause extreme damage. fedor will force the action in this fight and might take some of that damage. if he survives, i think he will outlast him and finally find his chin. i believe fedor is still the best and will find the right technique to beat overeem. a tough one to call though.

Overeem looked faster then he ever has imo, maybe it was just the motivation Rogers and the US fans gave him that made him come in a 110% but he looked devastating. Oveerem might enter my top 5 HW's now.
It didn't just take an extra round. Rogers was clearly more able to hang with Fedor. Rogers was landing, Fedor was bloody, he mounted Fedor and if one of those shots from mount had been a little more accurate, he would have been knocked out. There is nobody who can not be knocked out.

A 25 year old will look old if he has been in 30+ fights against top competition like the PRIDE guys who fought almost every month, plus it seems like half of the fought in K-1 which is just as brutal and takes just as much a toll on the body. Fedor has got to be one of the most technical and conditioned fighters in MMA, and since main event fights go for 5 rounds if Fedor can get past the first round then hell form a plan that will either A) Knock out Overeem or B) Keep the fight going so that Fedor can wear Overeem out as he Did Mirko or Noguiera and then put down serious ground game on Overeem. Plus Fedor is a master fight tactician he analyses all of his opponents and hes is a Sambo champion which gives him advantages in analysing tactical fight space, a Bujinkon strong point, to ensure a coriographed0ballet like performance.

Overeem is great ,but Fedor will win with his strength and ability to reverse and pound is incredible, whenever he got hit became more dangerous to most opponent and finished the fight .
Fedor has got to be one of the most technical and conditioned fighters in MMA, and since main event fights go for 5 rounds if Fedor can get past the first round then hell form a plan that will either A) Knock out Overeem or B) Keep the fight going so that Fedor can wear Overeem out as he Did Mirko or Noguiera and then put down serious ground game on Overeem. Plus Fedor is a master fight tactician he analyses all of his opponents and hes is a Sambo champion which gives him advantages in analysing tactical fight space, a Bujinkon strong point, to ensure a coriographed0ballet like performance.
For whom is this fight more important? Strikeforce? Fedor and overeem? The MMA community? M1? Russia? Holland?
i love how idiots can compare a man with 11 losses in the same league as the greatest. sure he was impressive against rogers, but then rogers hardly looked sharp in that fight, he looked like he'd been on a doughnut diet since fedor.
sure if they do meet overeem has a chance of winning, same chance fedors 30+ over opponents had. damn he might even beat fedor everyone must lose some time. even if he did he will never be as good a fighter as fedor with 11 losses.
i read ufc lovers comparing someone with a 4-1 record ((1 loss to a punch bag 1 victory to a punch bag and 1 victory against a pensioner!!)) as better than fedor. i mean what planet are these people born on? i think there should be a cull of the insanely thick and then i wouldnt feel the need to waste my time pointing out how ludicrous their statements are.
