Women's MMA icon, Gina Carano, who was last seen in action against Cristiane Santos back in 2009, discusses her time away from the sport, as well as her fighting future. Carano explains that her starring role in the feature film "Haywire" has left her little time to concentrate on much else, and says she is still unsure about her future in MMA.

She got her tail kicked on her last fight. Too much hype on her for the time we saw her. She will do good in the movies....Just movies...

Oh, here we go. Stick an athlete in a crappy movie, and all of a sudden they think they are Oscar worthy....

She can't act her way out of a cardboard box, and lose the retarded looking hat Carano.

Maybe if you took your shirt off someone would notice you.

Gina is a good person and deserves all the success she's had so far.

You don't have to get a sex change just to punch him in the face. Go ahead.

There is no way you get surpassed by someone like Santos, take two years off, get a movie roll / life and come back from that to fight at a high level again. I'm sorry she's gone.

    Seconded. She is done.

First of all, she realized in her last fight that she could never be a champion.

And then, she was and probably still is the best looking female in MMA, so while the door in Hollywood is cracked open she will be hoping to make a career there. It is always easier (and better paid) to look tough than to be tough.

And she has not fought in years. The body forgets. At a certain age it becomes next to impossible to make a meaningful return. And no one wants to come back just to get her ass kicked.

That said, I really like her, she is soft spoken and good looking and seemed to be doing great in MMA before her last fight. I would just hate to see her face smashed or see her get knocked out.

So bad news may be good news in her case.

OK folks, you cant blame her for making movies. She still gets to train, gets paid better, and doesn't have to get punched in the face by that "cyborg" dude.

God she is so gorgeous, it's hard watching the interview and paying attention to what she's saying. Unreal man, the smile, features, body, the energy, personality, smarts, confidence without arrogance = it's Tuesday I'm in love.

Also, sounds to me like she was pregnant. She's cited both "health" and "personal reasons" for her reason for not fighting in 2011. Not much else is a combination, and I think she'd be a bit more open if it were something like a sick family member.

As much as i loved watching her fight, i'll be happy to never have to watch her get punched in the face again.

For those dissing her acting abilities, when did action movies become known for great acting?
