"I don't know for sure, but I may participate in the upcoming National Sambo Tournament in St. Petersburg. That's still under question. This event will take place at the end of February. As for my next fight, Vadim will have some negotiations, and I think that in a very near future we'll know the date of my next fight."

MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko seemed in a very positive mood, speaking about his future plans in an interview to the Russia 2 TV Channel. The SAMBO Tournament Emelianenko is talking about will take place on February 25th in St. Petersburg, just 13 days after Fedor's defeat against Antonio Silva and the elimination from the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.

So what do you think LowKick'ers, will this SAMBO Tournament do any good to Fedor? Is it the first sign of reinvigorated "Last Emperor"? Use your keyboard.

I definately want to see him fight again, he needs to move down to 205, then work on his takedown defence. Or if he insists on staying at hw he needs to work at his wrestling, that's his weakness imo. Look at Rampage, he's successful using that formula.

It's a two fight losing streak. He isn't getting KOd every fight.

I hope SF make the right decision in regards of when they match up Fedor with the looser of Werdum v Reem. The tournament has claerly gathered more momentum than expected and they should use this to their advantage and make sure that fight takes place on the same card as the HW Final. I raelly wanna see SF progress and this touranment along with this story line that Fedor's loses have created will go along away to doing that.

I would depend of Fedor's health. I think it is too early to compete in any tournament because of took so much beating. But if it ignites a new fire in him, why not.

Training in Sambo would be good for him, it's his focus on stand up and lack of ground game training that has hurt him in his last 2 fights.

Fedor looks like his timing was way off in his fight vs Silva. I think he will rebound strong. If not he definately needs to hang up the gloves

It is always good for a fighter after a loss to go back to his roots, if not for anything else but for motivational reasons.

Fedor should go down to 205....we just seen him get controlled on the ground and man handled in his last fight and the main reason for this was because of the size difference between Fedor and big foot.If someone the size of Forrest Griffin can make the cut then why not Fedor.By the way im a big Fedor fan and hope he bounces back no matter what weight class he fights in
