Strikeforce: Werdum vs Fedor main card combatants Fabricio "Vai Cavalo" Werdum and the former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Cung Le discussed their preparations for the event, which will take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on June 26th.

Fabricio Werdum will face the toughest test in his Mixed Martial Arts career, against "The Last Emperor" Fedor Emelianenko. Werdum is considered by many as a heavy underdog for this fight, despite being regarded as one of the best Heavyweight grapplers in the sport. As for Cung Le, the Vietnam-born fighter will look for revenge against Scott Smith, who defeated Le at Strikeforce: Evolution six months ago.

Strikeforce: Fedor vs Werdum will be the promotion's eighth event this year, after the relatively successful 'Miami', 'Nashville' and 'Heavy Artillery' fight cards.

Smith is a good fighter but is too one dimensional and has become predictable. Cung Le is clearly the much better all around fighter and was picking Smith apart with both kicks and punches right up untill he got sloppy and got caught. It reminded me of the Smith vs Sell fight when Smith pulled of that KO from nowhere when Sell had him badly hurt. Le wont make that mistake again for sure imo, i think next time he wont let Scott press him against the cage, which was how Smith caught him the first time, and just pick him off with kicks and punches at range again. Smith is tough though and not easy to finish but i think Le will get the job done this time. I dont really give Werdum much of a chance against Fedor, which is how Fedor likes it, i just wish he would hurry up and sign on the dotted line to fight Overeem, that's if he doesn't find a way out of it, or even better, sign to join the UFC and fight some REAL top 10 HW's and prove to everybody just how good you are....oh, and maybe fight more than twice a year...........

Haha was that Wanderli speaking?? I swear if I closed my eyes I wouldnt be able to tell the difference... People wonder why the fighters prefer to have Ed Soares speak for them!! Regardless of his painful interviews, I will be picking Werdum.
