Evangelista Santos: I want to fight Paul DaleyPosted on March 11, 2012, 08:19 PM by Trent Reinsmith
Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos has gone 1-3 during his tenure with Strikeforce with his last two fights ending early, falling by TKO to Jordan Mein and tapping out to a Nick Diaz armbar.
The Brazilian striker recently addressed his hopes for his next opponent in Strikeforce’s Welterweight division, Paul Daley. Daley is also 1-3 in his Strikeforce career, dropping his last three fights, with his latest loss coming at the hands of Kazuo Misaki on March 3.
“My results are going to be crucial for the future of my career. I have more four fights left in my contract and after two good results I’ll be back to the top of the division. I had a title shot against (Nick) Diaz, I lost on the undercard to Jordan Mein. I want to fight someone known, maybe even Paul Daley, who is also coming from a bad outcome. It would make me happy fighting him. He would be a good opponent. I owe this fight to the fans”. – for more see Tatame
The two had previously been scheduled to meet, but an injury to Santos forced the fight to be cancelled.
