Mixed Martial Arts veteran Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos returned to the Strikeforce cage, this time facing “The Raging Demon” Marius Zromskis.

Both fighters are well-known for their exceptional striking skills, but surprisingly it was the Brazilian who had the more patient approach in this fight. Dream Welterweight Champion Marius Zaromskis failed to find his range, allowing Santos to punish him with punches and kicks.

The Brazilian delivered a shattering high kick to Zaromskis’ head, forcing the Lithuanian to do an unnecessary act of desperation. Somehow reminding Andrei Arlovski, Zaromskis decided to throw a flying knee, meeting nothing but Cyborg’s punch. Zaromskis immediately landed on the ground directly to the rain of Cyborg’s ground and pound, forcing the ref Herb Dean to stop the contest.

It is a second knockout loss to Marius Zaromskis, and a second victory for Evangelista Santos. The Brazilian improves his record to 18-13, as a fight against KJ Noons for the shot at Nick Diaz could provide tons of excitement. The official time for this contest is 2:38 minutes of Round 1.

There are a lot of very successful fighters in the US that don't cut much. GSP, Shields, Mousassi, Couture at HW, Frankie Edgar, etc, etc.

Cyborg was just the bigger man & stronger hitter. His reach also helped him out.

zaromski is a tough cookie and had many excellent bouts in cage rage. But i think he was taking on a bit of a monster in santos, he is bigger than zaromski and has ko power so not surprised with the outcome. i think he'll have alot more success at a lower weight as he cant handle the power of these bigger guys.

Santos was a LHW for most of his career so i was suprised that he went straight down to 170lbs instead of going down to 185lbs first and then 170lbs. Anyway, doesn't look like he's lost any of his power. Zaromskis has looked poor outside of Cage Rage really which is also a suprise, that said though, both of his opponents in his first two fights for SF were a lot taller and both had a big reach advantage which was clear to see, particularly in the Diaz fight. I can see Marius going down to LW at some point in the future, he would have a lot of success there imo but who knows, we'll see........

As for all fighters in Dream they need to go down a weight class to fight in America.
