Cung Le Looks to Avenge His Only Loss
Posted on May 6, 2010, 08:19 PM by Joey SantosusBeing known as a fighter with a never back down approach to challengers, it should come as no surprise to anyone that when approached with a proposed rematch with his latest opponent Cung Le, Scott Smith was not the least bit reluctant to accept. According to MMAWeekly.com and confirmed by MMANews.com, this bout will be added as a co-main event to what is quickly shaping up to be an exciting card, co-promoted by Strikeforce and M-1 Global and scheduled to take place June 26th on Showtime.
Their initial fight took place back in December of 2009 and was very closely contested. Cung Le mangaged to maintain control in the first two rounds, only to be caught in the third, losing to Scott Smith by K.O.
Only a day removed since Strikeforce officially announced the much anticipated return of fan favorite heavyweight contender Fedor Emeilianko, his meeting with fellow heavyweight Fabrico Werdum will be the headliner for the event, while Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos also holds a spot on the card.

Well strikeforce needs some good event after using basically all of their fighters in the last event
Haha agreed. I am not their biggest fan, but I always make sure to stay mutual and never be bias when I post. That is just unprofessional and takes away from the integrity of it.
"Stay neutral" rather
Re-match again Cung over Scott
I said it last time and I'll say it again. I love Cung Le. The guy puts on a show. Unfortunately he does not have the power to put away a guy like Scott Smith. He can out point him and take a decision but all Scott needs is that one big punch. I think that as much as I would like to see Cung win, the rematch will look a lot like the first fight with Smith getting controlled and out pointed until he sees the opportunity to land a bomb.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda. He lost, accept it.
He ain't no Bruce Lee.
