Antonio Silva: I don't care if it's Fedor, Barnett or Overeem - I just want to fight

Strikeforce Heavyweight GP Semi-Finalist Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva commented on Alistair Overeem's exit from the tournament, declaring that he doesn't care who's the replacement. According to Silva, he just wants to fight, and it doesn't matter if it's Josh Barnett or a rematch against Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko:

"Whatever they want, we just want to fight. If they want to put (Josh) Barnett there that's fine, they want Fedor (Emelianenko) again, that's fine. We would rather fight Overeem cause he's in the semifinals, that would be for everybody. I find that it's unfortunate and I don't think that one fighter's interest can be above anybody else's. That's the truth." MMAWeekly.com (via MMAMania.com).

Overeem's replacement will be the American Kickboxing Academy product Daniel Cormier, whod defeated Jeff "The Snowman" Monson at last month's Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum. Cormier is one of the most decorated wrestlers in Mixed Martial Arts, holding a professional record of 8-0.

Imagine the controversy of this situation if Fedor had of made it through the first round of the GP.

Gormier is a handful for any fighter. His major disadvantage, however, is the size. Bigfoot is too big and too strong for any HW...I'm excited though about this fight...I hope Gormier will implement a good against the Brazilian monster...

It sucks Overeem won't fight Bigfoot. I can't believe this bullshit happend! Maybe a rematch with Fedor would be the way to go. Barnett and Kharitonov should stick with fighting eachother.

Why is he referred to as Giant, huge, monster, etc? He's 6'4 right? Struve is 6'11" Tim Sylvia is 6'8" Hong Man Choi was ginormous and others have been as big or bigger than Big Foot. He isn't a monster he is a good sized HW but their are bigger fighters out there and his size does not (typically) give him an advantage over skilled opponents.Skill vs. skill is the best measurement for a fight/fighter. My opinion. (I know it is pretty much a random thought and post but I am curious).

he isnt referred to as Giant Silva, that is an actual Pro Wrestler that competed in Pride and a few other MMA orgs. They call Antonio Silva "bigfoot" because he has gigantism, he has giant feet.

There are two ways to measure size, height is only one of them. The other way is width. Silva is considered huge not because of his height but because of his width. Due to his Gigantism many parts of his body are twice the normal width (thickness) of a "normal man" Have you ever seen his hands side by side with a normal man's hands? Minus the full body hair, he truly is a walking Big Foot (a throwback to a more brutish looking and enormous hominid). Please note that I say that with all due respect to his intelligence and spirit as a modern human being.
