Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva: I'd love to send Brock Lesnar back to Pro Wrestling

"It excites me. The UFC is the No. 1 event on earth. The best fighters in the world are there. I would love to fight there. I'd love to fight Brock Lesnar and send him back to pro wrestling because I don't accept the fact that (he's) ranked No. 2.  It's not personal; I don't know Brock. It's just professional. I fight for my family. I love to fight and I need to fight, so I'll fight any place and anybody. - For more reactions from Strikeforce fighters and managers, visit MMAJunkie.com

Just a month after securing the biggest victory of his professional career, defeating "The Last Emperor" Fedor Emelianenko via TKO in February, it appears Strikeforce Heavyweight contender Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva already has his sites set on another big name opponent.  Though its not the first time the Brazilian has expressed a distaste for the former WWE superstar, the potential for a future UFC/Strikeforce merger makes the idea of crossing promotional boundaries seem far less unrealistic to fans and fighters alike.

The vicory over Emelianenko earned "Bigfoot" a spot in the semi-final round of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, where he will face the winner of the upcoming Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum match-up.  The second set of quarfinal bouts are set to take place June 18th from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.  While Overeem vs. Werdum will headline the stacked card, the co-main event will feature an additional tournament match between Josh Barnett and Brett Rogers.

They are saying UFC is the best organization not that they have the best heavyweights, big difference. Also they'd be stupid not to kiss at least a little but to their new owner as there is no doubt Zuffa will dismantle Strikeforce as a competitor to their main organization.

Actually he was saying a UFC fighter is overrated in the rankings as well. Everyone knows the UFC is the premier MMA outfit and has been since Pride folded and Zuffa pumped their dollars into it. I have never heard many (if any) fighters anywhere on the planet say otherwise. Does not mean they have all the 'best' fighters though.

He's not ****y. He is confident. Personally, my money is on Big Foot in that fight. He has demonstrated very good striking, a superlative ground game and is just as big as Lesner. Lesner would get killed on the feet and against a BJJ blackbelt that is as big as he is I don't think he would fare much better on the ground. I've got Silva via TKO in the first or second round.

He would put Lesnar to sleep on no more than 2 rounds!

Lesnar being called the biggest thing in MMA is a joke on the Tuf commercials.

As far as Media Popularity,Putting butts in the seats, and being the #1 Cashcow he is the biggest thing to happen to MMA...he might not be the best but theres millions that will still pay to watch him fight..believe it or not Brock put MMA on the map to alot of media and people that didnt watch before he came!!!

And that's exactly what's wrong with MMA right now...it's a business, not an objective and level playing field where fighters can prove themselves.

UFC is what MMA needed in it's infancy; they're a great promoter, they grew it and did what they had to do to bring it to the world stage. But at some point MMA has to be nondiscriminatory and objective. Where fighters can focus on their craft; Fighting, and not have to worry about promoting themselves or putting butts in seats. Somewhat like the olympics.

There's a video out there where Chael Sonnen gives a pretty good explanation of it.

not here to talk shit this time. i am very interested in this fight Silva coming fresh off the win of Fedor, and Brock looking to silence critics. Bigfoot has some great ground game, and Lesnar has outstanding Wrestling, admit it or not Brock has beaten some of the best, Mir, Carwin, and Couture. I hate when people talk shit about him he's early in the game and has won and defended the title twice. If he works on his stand up he would be fresh. great fight in my mind you guys can put this as weak but facts are facts.

Agreed... I think this would be a great fight bit its far from happening anytime soon. I also dislike when people try to down Brock, he's won the heavyweight title and successfully defended it. I don't care if he came from the WWE. He's a fighter, maybe not a complete one, but definitely a fighter, if he wasn't his career would have ended his first fight.

He's not a fighter, he is a bully. As soon as things start going bad for him he crumbles. Even in the Carwin fight, he didn't come back, he shot out of desperation in the second round and was just lucky that Carwin was completely gassed. He didn't defend the title in that fight, Carwin beat himself.

lesnar was the only person that fought carwin that could take his bombs and make it to the second round, while carwin was trying desperatly to finish. i dont know how you can say carwin beat himself.

Because Jesse, had Carwin paced himself he could have done that to Lesner all night. As for Lesner being able to absorb the punishment, that is not an accomplishment it is just a function of mass and build.

would be a great fight to see but i think lesnar would win i dont think silva could out grapple him and his striking although better than wouldnt be enough to make thr diffrence. brocks power and speed would probably be the diffrence as silva is often slow and akward

Big Foot beat Fedor the way I thought that Fedor would lose eventually. Get on top and grind it out. Brock would most likely do the same thing, get on top and grind. Now Brock vs Silva is an interesting match up. Silva is the same size as Brock if not bigger, better stand up, better BJJ, only thing he lacks in wrestling. Brock would pretty much Matt Hughes this fight and take to the ground and win by decision. If Silva can stuff his take-downs Brock is dead meat on his feet.

I doubt that. JDS better either win in the first minute of any round via KO or have unbelievable BJJ. If not, Lesner is going to take him down at will and grind him out.

For somereason I see JDS breaking his hand(s) by punching Brock so much, and not answering the bell for the next round.

you dont have to have "unbelievable" BJJ to submit Brock.....BJJ vs BJJ then yea you have to have "unbelievable" BJJ like the Nate Diaz vs Hyun Kim fight....BJJ is actually one of Brocks weaknesses, as long JDS evades takes downs, or as soon he gets taken down goes for a sub and doest let Brock set up on top,Im sure JDS will train hard on BJJ

Part of BJJ is being able to make openings for submissions. Mir has excellent BJJ and couldn't do that to Lesner in the second fight. I repeat, JDS had better have unbelievable BJJ if he is going to beat Lesner on the ground.

I have no doubts that Bigfoot beats Brock. Brock could outpower his opponents like he did to Couture, but not to Carwin. Mir was an idiot and wanted to be on the ground. Brock can't outpower Bigfoot and take him down. Bigfoot is the same size, longer arms, better ground game, better striking and very good chin.

Bigfoot is not being ****y, he is just "selling his brand". If I became a pro fighter, I would challenge the top dog in my weight class on day one! What does Dana White preach all the time? He wants guys that will fight anybody, anytime.

UFC's HW division elite is about to be Antonio silva, Overeem, werdum, karitonov, dos santos, vasquez that up and coming guy they fought on the last sf card(forgot his name). The funny thing is vasquez might be the least talented out of the bunch. But its ok you donrt have to change your rankings now but you will later.

It's hard to say but one thing I can tell you for sure is that Overeem could knock Cain out, Werdum could submit Cain and Bigfoot could be to well rounded and big for Cain. However Cain might be to much for any of them as well. Honestly it is just so hard to rank the top 4-5 heavyweights right now.

What do you expect from a guy that doesn't even know Cain's last name, let alone how to spell it. Then he goes on to say that Chad Griggs, who he referred to as "that up and coming guy," is better than all of the UFC heavyweights. People like that are obviously suffering from a deficiency.
