Former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair "The Demolition Man" Overeem provided a video proof of his ribs injury, that was perhaps one of the reasons behind his release from Strikeforce. In another episode of his popular The Reem Documentary, Overeem visits where the doctors at the Amstelland Hospital in Amstelveen, Amsterdam, Netherlands diagnosed him with fractured rib.

Overeem's career went from bad to worse, after the Dutchman, who defeated Fabricio Werdum in the quarter-finals of Strikeforce Heavyweight GP, was removed from the tournament due to being unable "to fit" into the scheduled provided by Showtime. The Reem is still expected to compete at the United Glory World Series event in Moscow, in October, against a yet to be named opponent.

Strange that he says he went to the hospital to get proof of his injury but he never mentioned the rib injury beforehand and talked about his toe injury? Also strange that he talks like he was still going to the GP even though he knows he been replaced. Yet another strange thing is he gets cut the same day as going to get medical proof of his injuries.

While his trip to the hospital proved he had an injury, I get the feeling that he was cut because he could not back up his original claims of his original injury.

He explained, if you were listening? - that he thought he had a bruised rib but realised when it did not go away that it could be worse. Then he shows us the resulting trip to the doctors...

Well, we don't know what injuries he spoke of behind the scenes. It's perfectly normal behavior for fighters to keep their injuries, or at least the extent of said injuries, private. Otherwise, your opponent knows where u may be the weakest come fight night.

he did say he had a number of injuries but he knew he had a broken

toe but the others was sure what was up so he didnt say all fighters

would of said the same no fighter will tell u everything wrong cause

are always injured but was having more issues with it and you have

people like Dana saying a toe come on im sure he decided to get

checked out and reveal a few injuries that he didnt have confirmed

earlier since some tried to hint he was a puzzy of some sort plus

it also showed that Zuffa are pricks

That wouldnt be an issue considering he is insistent about fighting at 100%, and he was out of the fight already at that point.

But more information is coming out, I dont know if this is reliable but supposedly he was released due to management issues. UFC only pays fighters directly and Overeem's management insists on getting paid and they will be the ones to pay Overeem.

As I mentioned, I dont know if this is true, but time will tell.

Guys, you see now why monopoly of the sport by one big organization like Zuffa is never good for fighters nor mma fans. The Reem is an exciting fighter, a great champ, and a very respectable person. If he declines once to show up for a fight, that wouldn't be reason enough to cut him off. I believe Zuffa has to come up w/ a convincing explanation for its action...Lately, we've seen double standards followed in treating different fighters. I'm afraid Dana is becoming too much of a "dictator" who just does whatever he likes...the losers are ultimately us, the fans...My best wishes go to the Reem...Let's not rush to dagger a fallen man without valid reasons...We need to hear the full story to pass any judgments...

I'm not rushing to dagger him at all. I only spoke what my feeling is as a result of the contradiction of what came out of his own mouth, and the strange events of the situation.

I dont agree with everything Zuffa or Dana says, but it would be foolish to hold them responsible for what came out of Alistars mouth.

the fact that zuffa owns most of mma is a good thing because it should mean we get to see all the fights we want but the bad thing though is that fighters don't have a union. if the fighters unionized and got together and bargained with zuffa their conditions, pay, and risk of losing their jobs for stupid shit would all improve. also i think this whole reem getting cut from strikeforce thing is a way around the showtime contract

Why is Mauro Ranallo such a tremendous asshole?

The course of action after the Strikeforce acquisition should have been as follows:

    1) Fire Mauro Ranallo

    2) Everything else

Why Bas and the voice aren't commentating for SF is beyond me.
