Lol I like Alistaire alot as a fighter and a person but he seems like such an alpha-male/ borderline bully, especially if you have seen him beat up his training partners.
Lol i know i know, if it sounded like a negative thing i didn't mean it to be one. I should have just stuck with alpha male, which I think he sorta acts like but I find it amusing. He isn't being disingenious and doesn't act like that because he is insecure or something, its just the way he is and I'm a fan.
I agree with the both of you. I know what you mean dray12... If a person was watching one of his interview for the first time, or just listening to him speak, he gives off a certain bravado. However, over time of course you realize that, as 2drunk pointed out, none of that is really who he is as a person.
Interestingly, after watching some Stephan Struve interviews, I noticed that some of those traits may be cultural. The pausing between words and ending sentences with a sharp period, which gives off confidence in what they have said. Its just a thought, but maybe its partially a Dutch thing.
Yea for sure you always have to consider the cultural difference + use of English as a second language in a fighters character and I'd assume Dutch people get a better sense of his personality than I do. But you said it perfect he does give off a certain bravado. If you watched the interview with the Voice it is pretty evident there, like when he talks about how he man handled Remy Bonjasky in a K1 bout (but lost), and said that he made him look like "a big baby". And how he confronted Ray Sefo and said "your next, after Rays reaction while commentating his fight with Badr Hari in which he lost.
Overeem has evolved indeed.....He could very well be the first one to knock someone dead.....If Carwin doesnt beat him to it.....Werdum is no contest in my OPINION.
