MMA legend Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko has improved his post-Strikeforce record to 3-0, with a spectacular victory over Pedro Rizzo in the main event of M-1 Global: White Nights in St. Petersburg, Russia. Fedor showed signs of "PRIDE" Fedor, with an explosive finish that left Pedro Rizzo unconscious.

Fedor opened with his traditional fighting stance, which pushed Pedro Rizzo back to the ropes. The Last Emperor started with simple one-two combinations, and immediately found Rizzo's head. The Brazilian tried to respond with combinations of his own, but Fedor Emelianenko defended well. More than anything, it was Fedor who delivered low kicks and mid-kicks, while Pedro Rizzo, who has a number of TKO victories via leg kicks on his record, was busy with surviving Fedor's fast hands.

Finally, Emelianenko exploded with a trademark barrage of strikes, leaving Pedro Rizzo absolutely no chance. Rizzo went down like a sack of potatoes, while Fedor finalized the deal with a series of powerful ground and pound strikes. Rizzo required a few minutes to get back on his feet, as fans at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia, celebrated The Last Emperor's victory.

Fedor Emelianenko improved to 34-4-(1) in his career. The Russian legend spoke about retiring against Rizzo, but it looks like his convincing performance will at least postpone the inevitable walk-away from Mixed Martial Arts competition.

Fedor please , update your groundgame, stabilize your oponents first instead of attacking , then attack with summisions or punches, that was the big mistake in all your 3 loses. And go to the UFC for god sake!!

No way he outdraws Lesnar. People outside of MMA know who Lesnar is. They don't know who Fedor is. Also, put Lesnar on a poster - he looks scary. Put Fedor on a poster - he looks like a teddy bear. He's not drawing any casual fans.

Not the best end to career but not the worst either. Will never forget him destroying Big Nog from inside the closed guard, back when Nogueria was the Pride champ.

Exactly! The power he generated from those short punches was incredible. It sounded like a sack of meat hitting the floor.

Fedor vs JDS last fight.Fedor is 10 times better striker than Mir.I don't see any one alse striking with JDS exept Overoid

Fedor has incredible hand speed and power, but JDS has crisper boxing technique, and is probably just as fast. Fedor could win, but I would definitely pick JDS.

Overoid is a beast and a great striker, but I don't think he's near as fast as those guys, and also doesn't have as good a chin. I don't like his chances against JDS.

    His fights have been entertaining.

. Couple of things which have bothered my when it comes to jumping on the Fedor bandwagon.

In Pride... some of the fights were fixed....the number...who knows? But... it's messed up as you really don't know who he beat in a fair fight or if the opponent was asked to "take the night off" .....

Then you put him up against Brett Rogers and he didn't look all that great. Even with the win... Brett couldn't beat any of the top 10 HWs IMO.

    Fabricio subs him.....

Then he fights Big Foot and gets his head pounded in....

Big Foot gets his ass handed to him by Cain.... so... where would Fedor fall in to the mix?

I don't think he would make it in the top 10 "pound for pound" HW's ... or even the top 15.

Again... I've enjoyed his fights over the years.... but... the guy really missed the boat when his crazy ass management screwed things up with the UFC deal. IMO

Now he beats (no surprise) a very washed up Rizzo and this is how he might end his career?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMO it's time for the hardcore Fedor loyalists to reevaluate the guys career and where he truly stacks up against top quality competition.

    Let the "weaks" begin. LOL

    Stop doing MMA math.

Also, learn when not to take Chael Sonnen seriously (when his lips are moving). "Pride fights were fixed." Can you honestly point to one of Fedor's fights in Pride and show me where his opponent took a dive?

"At the beginning, when Pride first started, it was more like 90 percent of the fights were fixed and 10 percent were real," Goodridge said in an interview with The MMA Digest. "As the fights went on, they became the opposite way and completely wiped out. All were real."

    Rampage Jackson

The tournaments were fixed. They said they drew numbers from a hat. It was all set up for Wanderlei to win. It was really bad. Even in some fights they would stand you up when you were winning, different stuff like that."

    Google it...

    "pride fights fixed"

Not saying someone took a dive in his fights.... but... then again... how would we know?

Goodridge and Rampage said that! Don't forget to mention chuck liddell spoke about it too and said that most a the pride fighters were on illegal peds.

Chuck also got his ass handed to him in Pride. Most atheletes are on PED's, not just Pride, although chances are majority of guys in pride were on PED because they don't test for them. As for fixing fights, thats all heresy. I doubt Sakuraba let Wanderlei knock him out for fun. Lets not forget that they have been many questionable fights in UFC that looked a bit "OFF".
