Trouble in Paradise: Ricky Hatton caught on camera snorting Cocaine lines

After Floyd Mayweather's shameful racist rant against Manny Pacquiao and his arrest (later, he was released) for domestic violence, it was Ricky Hatton's turn to disgrace the "Sweet Science".

News of the World caught the multi-time Light Welterweight Champion on camera, snorting cocaine in one of the Manchester hotels. Hatton mixed the cocaine with large doses of alcohol, before attending one of the MMA events held in the city. The Hitman will now face the issue with the British Boxing Board of Control, which could suspend, fine or even withdraw Hatton's license indefinitely.

More than that, the maximum sentence for possession of a Class A drug like cocaine in UK is seven years in prison.

Thats every country except the ones who totally control their people.

Media swarms to anything that sells. I rate them right up there with tow truck driver vultures who STEAL your car.

Man that is why you can never trust a woman. Obviously she is the one who sat him up. Just so she could sell the footage I am sure. Sad stuff tho...

Doesn't matter who is filming it, you've gotta be some kind of stupid to get filmed snorting coke especially if you hold a celebrity status

I doubt (seriously) that Hatton knew that the cameras was either there or that he was being filmed.

By "sat him up" I mean secretly filmed him... Obviously, he wasn't aware of the camera.

SIGH " the NOTW strikes again this people are hell bent on destroying sports men and women. as for Hatton not really surprised by this he used to binge drink in between fights probably was doing this too. This might effect his legacy in the media but his Manchester base fans will still love there not exactly upper or middle class people. Their down the pub every night just like him and probably do drugs just like him

Agreed - none of his real fans, particularly those in his hometown, are going to care; if anything, it would only make them rally to his side and love him more; make them want to pull for him and help him (if, indeed, he even needs help). The video only demonstrates use, not addiction or problem, after-all.

All this video does is try and push or create a story, where there is no story. Why doesn't the media go stick cameras in the hotel rooms at the next Bilderberg meeting; tell us what they're up to. That would be news. This is not news. This is "making" news. And all is does is make me want to pull for and support, Ricky Hatton.

I say this as the son of a Manchester x-pat; born and raised; one generation removed.

I say the following to this video:

    1. Who cares - whether or not a guy shoves coke up his nose, is none of my business. If he has a problem it's none of my business. I'm quite sure it doesn't aid his training or fighting; surely. The bottom line on this is, that in a free society, someone's cognitive state of mind is no one's business.

    2. As to the skank that set him up - she should be tarred, feathered and run out of town. Obviously, he is under the impression that is privacy is not being invaded, here, when in reality, it's obvious that he's been "set up" for the purposes of filming his / the drug use. I also find it funny that Hatton is the only one of the video, using. Did the woman / back-stabber take any coke?

    3. Drugs - define drugs and when they are bad. Is it bad for RH or any athlete in any sport, to use drugs? What about steroids? We are now in an era where the halls of fame of some of our most beloved sports, are now being populated with steroid users and cheats. How many athletes do the corporate media, the ownership(s) and the fans turn a blind eye to, that are on steroids and cheating? And it is cheating. If you use steroids or performance enhancing drugs of any kind, then you are a - cheat. Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens...the majority of the NFL; are all cheats. To get on this guys back, in what amounts to entrapment, is hypocrisy at its best.

    4. The drug war is a joke - they've been fighting this for 60 years and achieved nothing, but waste trillions of dollars and create a criminal class out of users; recreational or otherwise. I see no crime, here. The crime is the continued prosecution of people for doing with their lives, what they wish to. The crime here is that Hatton thought he was alone in a room with a “friend” (and fellow drug user) and that he should have no concerns, with regard to his privacy; when, in reality, he was being set-up. I wonder how many of our politicians, corporate tycoons, media types, judges, cops and military, we could get on film, doing the exact same thing.

My final thought on this – didn’t George W. Bush have a coke problem? Hasn’t Obama been accused of the same thing?

…leave Hatton alone; no one cares.

Okay, so Wing Chun is really Joe Rogan!

Also, Wing, rethink your War on Drugs argument. Just because a war has been waged for a long time doesn't mean we should give up or stop. The war on child sexual exploitation, the war on cancer and the war on pollution are all worth fighting on despite the time and financial cost.

The argument that George Bush might have done it and so it is okay might be weak as well...I think you'd have to admit.

Define when drugs are bad? How about when an addict's life is taken away from them? How about when the addict spends money that his spouse and children should have been able to spend on food or clothes. How about when an impaired user takes the life of an innocent person in a fight, while driving or while stealing to support a habit? How about when meth user picks her face off and her teeth fall out. How about when a 15 year old gives oral sex for drugs. How about......well, you get the idea.

Are all drugs evil? Probably not. Are all drug users evil? NO Was NOTW wrong to ruin his life with an illegally gotten video - YES

    Take care Bro.

Rethinking the war on drugs - Einstein said that the very definition of insanity was repeating the same actions over and over (again), expecting a different outcome. That is the very definition of the war on drugs. I'd also make note of the fact that western powers have been stopping around Afghanistan for nearly a decade (now) and haven't can't / won't prevent the opium crops from being grown. It would seem to me, that if they were serious about the drug war then there would be no opium crops in Afghanistan. It is one of the many reasons why I'm suspicious of the government, when it comes to such issues; Google CIA and drugs.

Providing for the addicts wife and children - what if he / she doesn't have a wife / husband or kids? You raise the issue of impaired people taking lives in fights or while driving...seems to me you just described alcohol, not drugs. What about all the house moms running around on perquisite or other opiate narcotics, doing their daily errands? What about all the doctors and pharmaceutical companies that push all these pills? Does society really need all these opiates or are they being marketed and pushed on us, for the purposes of profit? People didn't need all these pills 30, 40, 50, 100+ years ago. What's changed?

Stealing to provide for a habit - one of the best reasons for legalizing all drugs and making them cheap. The only reason they are expensive is, because they are illegal; period. Legalize them and this issue goes away; as does any connection organized crime has to drugs.

Are all drugs and users evil - I don't know...are all governments, politicians, judges, lawyers, cops and media honest and beyond corruption? I forget (now) it's been a few decades, but how much coke did the US govt. import into the states during the 80's (Iran Contra)? They "admitted" ( during the hearings) to importing more then 14 million dollars worth of Coke.

If you remember the slogan from 30 years ago...just say no to drugs - LOL!

With that said, he doesn't say it on air. He pretty much watches his words, when on TV; especially, if it's not UFC owned; ie. ESPN.
