On April 28th, all-female Invicta Fighting Championship will debut with its first card, taking place at the Memorial Hall, Kansas City, Kansas. The event is headlined by Marloes Coenen's return to action against the 22-year old talent Romy Ruyssen, who wants to get revenge from her first encounter with "Rumina" back in 2008 (Coenen won via RNC). Minimumweight (105lbs) clash between Jessica Penne and the 14-7 veteran Lisa Ellis-Ward will serve as the co-main event.
Jessica Penne (29-years old) is widely considered as one of the most promising WMMA fighters at her weight class, holding a professional record of 8-1 (5 Submission victories). In her most recent fight, Penne successfully bounced back from defeat to Zoila Gurgel (Bellator 25) with a convincing performance against Amy Davis. Despite being on a two-fight losing streak, Lisa Ellis-Ward is still a huge test for Penne. Ward will be looking to get back on winning ways, while Penne wants to prove she's step by step becoming one of the top WMMA fighters on the planet, and when both fighters are well-known for finishing their opponents - MMA fans are up for a treat.
