Part I: Can Roger Huerta make a comeback?
Posted on March 11, 2011, 02:31 AM by doomsdayapexRoger 'El Matador' Huerta is a young fighter with great potential but after going 6-2 in his UFC career, Roger has gone 1-4 in his last 5 bouts. Most recently, Roger received a vicious beating in the hands of Eddie Alvarez (Bellator's Lightweight champion and one of MMA's top fighters).
Before losing to Curran, Roger had only dropped two decision victories against title contenders in Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard (a very close fight). While Roger did indeed lose the fight to Alvarez, I do not think Eddie completely dominated the fight. Huerta managed to rock the champion twice and take him down but only so much credit can be given to fighter who could not get his legs underneath him and form a better strategy. In my upcoming article I will discuss why Roger has continued to struggle and what he needs to do to get his career back on track.
So in the mean time (while I'm away), do you think Roger Huerta can make a comeback and grasp ahold of a title if changes are made?
- 1. Yes?
- 2. No?

certainly hope he does, hes a good fighter and a better human being
Did he get cut from the ufc or did he just leave it?
his contract expired he chose not to renew and the ufc chose not to re-sign him it was kinda mutual
Huerta has tons of heart but he makes a lot of technical mistakes. If he tightens up is boxing and footwork (he often has his feet too far apart ) he could definitely re-enter the top tier of the LW division.
At this point, all the losses must be getting to him psychologically as well. He should also consider seeing a sports psychologist.
Josh Neer isnt food for anyone, he is a great fighter and can win at anytime
dana white is like an evil sorcerer or one of those guys from the adjustment bureau and he always gets the last laugh. for that reason, huerta needs to focus on acting because his fighting comeback will find moderate success at best and he'll never hold a major title. sorry.
Roger hold himself against the best in the UFC neither Kenny and Maynard could finish him.
the important thing is he has heart and never quits
and his fights are always exciting !! always delivers to the fans
maybe he could drop to Featherweight comeback to the UFC and rematch Leonard Garcia!
I hope so, he has a lot of potential
Don't forget his victory in downtown Austin.
