ormer UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia dominated the World Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski, forcing the Polish icon to tap out in the middle of the second round. Pudzianowski troubled Big Tim with early leg kicks and a successful takedown, but found himself out of gas after just three minutes of fighting, allowing Sylvia to jab his way through the fight without much resistance.

In his post-fight interview, Sylvia declared that he is back to his prime: "This feels great, man. I’m back. Mariusz Pudzianowski is one helluva tough guy. This provides me with an opportunity to get another big fight, hopefully in three months. It didn’t go as I had planned.

I thought I’d knock him out in the first round but I was a little cautious. My corner told me after the first round I could do anything because he was gassed. Once he failed on the takedowns, I knew I had him."

Tim Sylvia's next bout will be against the fellow UFC veteran Wes Sims, at the Canadian IFC promotion on June 6th. According to rumors, Sylvia could also participate at Dream.15 on July 10th, possibly against the Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem. Sylvia called out Overeem in his recent interview to TapoutRadio, claiming that he would love to test his skills against the Dutchman.

Pudz just quit. I knew he quit when Sylvia just kinda shoved him over at one point. Then did he really just lay-down outta no where? Seriously Pudz? Then he refuses to speak after the fight and walks outta the octagon!! While all those polish fan's were supporting him!!! Just turns and leaves.

Well it took him a lot to quit, even when he had all those knees to the head and not being able to defend himself. I think it was exhaustion that ended it for him not him losing. And he was ashamed of himself for it; I wouldn't want to talk to anyone after something like that.

I don't think the knees were very effective. A couple of the later knees were, but only because Pudz was too exhausted to raise his arms to defend himself.

He tapped from a lack of heart, pure exhaustion, he wasn't taking much damage, he was just panicking because he couldn't breath and wanted to stop. Listen to him gasping. The human lungs are not designed to support such a large muscle-mass. He needs to lay off the roids, drop 25 lbs, and do nothing but run.

He was done early in the 1nd round. He threw a leg kick and grappled a little, and was spent. Randy is 47 years old, and would run circles around this guy.

I had Pudz picked to win on the strength of his leg-kicks. If he had even half-decent stamina, he would have. His only other fight was just too quick to get an idea of his cardio. Also, he may not have been tested for the other fight, but was for this one. These guys stop juicing and they look slow and weak, no roid energy.

Look at some of his WSM competitions. Pulling trains and carrying cars around and muscling huge amounts of weight for minutes. He never gassed doing that like he did with this, and he expended far far more energy in those strong-man competitions than he did here. That's the difference between a clean fighter and a juiced fighter. I bet it would be better for him to just stay clean all year. He won't experience such dramatic swings physical endurance, he'll know what to expect. Instead of just tapping right away from being too tired to continue.

People like Pudz and Sapp are proof that muscle doesn't hand you victories. This guy is no Lesnar. I was excited to see him fight though, and I'll probably watch his next fight if he has one.

I think that being a UFC Heavyweight Champion means to be in your prime.

That's a silly statement... He was HW champ, and he didn't tap when Mir broke his arm.

He took the belt by knocking out Arlovski in his prime. Then he won the rematch.

But yeah, Mr. Pudz definitely had too much confidence in his strength. He was probably afraid that cardio exercise would cut into his weight lifting schedule. He needs to decide does he really want to be a fighter, because weight lifting isn't enough.

He doesn't even lift heavy anymore, he did his last WSM competition in 2009, and since then he was 100% committed to MMA. He runs 5 Km a day, he just has to much muscle mass for the oxygen to be distributed everywhere. Please don't say stupid uninformed things, he is trying to shape his body to a level where the muscle to body ratio isn't as high, but you can't really do a thing like that overnight.

My god, Sylvia won the fight, got to say though, it was hardly against an elite level opponent, Pudz looked terrible, just as bad as his first showing, he can't of have expected to improve his game anymore in two weeks really and so must have been relying on his brute strength to win him the fight but as the saying goes "power is nothing without control" and i think it applies here perfectly. I wasn't impressed by Sylvia either though and surely he can't think that fight re-establishes him in the MMA world, it reminded me of some of those crazy "special attraction" fights Pride used to put on back in the day, lol........

In his first fight he was explosive and fast and aggressive and smashed the guy... Not sure what people expect these days from someone in their very first fight.

His kicks were brutally destructive. This wasn't the same fighter. He'll probably go be a star in Japan where he can juice freely.

It was a good win for big Timmy and a lot of you are giving Tim too much of a hard time. Yes, he had a prime. He was a the champ. Don't take all the hard work the guy put into his career. The big guy has skills!

As for Pudz. It's time to move on. I enjoy watching him on WSM but MMA is not something he should continue to pursue. He was gassed in 2 minutes and had absolutely nothing to defend himself with. He literally quit laid down.

It was not a surprise to me at all the outcome of the strongest man in the world. Muscles don't mean shit.

No CARDIO, BOXING, a couple leg kicks and he QUIT!

If you are going to enter the MMA world, be ready and well prepared.

Sylvia did not impress me at all. He looked fat, out of shape with a 45 lb rack and his technique was the same.

    Keeping it real FAM!

Keep on training and working on improving, he's still new to the mma game and there's no need for him to throw in the towel or anything, even a very pudgy Tim Sylvia is still a dangerous opponent to anyone. If he's serious about becoming a full time fighter he definitely will have to lose some muscle though. He'll never have good cardio at his size.

Did anyone see what both of them weighed in at?
