Fedor Emelianenko: It's not a fact that the fight with Pedro Rizzo will be my last

MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko currently prepares for the fight with the fellow veteran Pedro "The Rock" Rizzo, which will take place on June 21st in St. Petersburg, Russia. Speaking in an interview with Russia 2, Fedor revealed that he's still uncertain whether the fight with Rizzo will be his last:

"We'll see. It's not a fact that I will retire on June 21st. We'll see after the fight."

Fedor is one of the most influential figures in Russian sports, and a role model to young fighters around the world. However, it seems like "The Last Emperor" prefers to hold his horses when it comes to coaching the next generation of fighters:

"I don't know who came to conclusion that I will coach young fighters. Everyone talks about my retirement, and that I will train young fighters. I never said that."

Retirement or not, Fedor Emelianenko is expected to deliver a trademark performance on June 21st, especially when fighting in St. Petersburg for the first time since 2007 clash with Matt Lindland. Fedor Emelianenko and Pedro Rizzo share 40 career finishes out of 66 professional MMA bouts.

Where did he say that? You'd think that after a career like that he'd like to go out with a win.

Drop to LHW and do work! Give yourself the chance to bounce back that you deserve.

agree with this. seeing how he rocked hendo a LHW (even though he lost). I'd like to see him in the UFC - perhaps it would give him some added motivation.

and then maybe a superfight with Jones.

and somebody just clicked on the weak button on me.

I agree that he should drop to LHW. Don't think a fight with Jones will happen. If he did go to the ufc, Dana would match him with other fighters that are on the down part of the careers. He's probably fight at the best Rich Franklin, Forest, Bader or maybe even shogun. Shit that fans wanted to see 5-10 years ago

I don't know if you're being honest or sarcastic but on a side not, I'm tired of everybody dogging Fedor as if HE claimed to be the best ever or he's some sort of trash talker. He comes to fight every time, he's humble in

victory and always shows respect for his opponents. Grow up and just support the fighters you like and pay no mind to the ones you don't.

This is good news to me. Fedor has been around a long time but he has only been hurt in maybe three fights. All of the training takes its tole but he is relatively young. Based on his current physique I would say he is close to 100% now. Hopefully he will somehow find his way to the UFC and make the comeback I know he is capable of. I highly doubt that will happen but I do hope it does somehow. Hey Dana, maybe a one fight contract to let him avenge his loss to Big Foot? If he loses you win and if he wins you don't lose. How about it big guy?

He's been hurt in plenty of fights. Coleman ground and pound the shit out of him before getting caught in an arm bar from hell (twice). What's his name suplexed him on the back of his head and got subbed a few moments later. He has had many wars.

By hurt I mean permanently damaged. He has only been hurt in a way that could affect his longevity in the sport in a couple of fights. Rocked by Fujita, TKOd by Hendo and possibly in one or two other fights he took damage. BF may have done some damage but just like in the Colman fights Fedor never looked rocked.

Was a beast in pride, but fought more cans than muscle.

It's just a clouded record, once he started fighting again, he lost 3 in a row !

(didn't fought top fighters that were there, after pride)

UFC will never make a fedor deal after all the fedor and M1 shit, and yes fedor isn't good enough, in the ufc fighters will hold their guard up, let him swing and take advantage, i'm so glad the fake hype train is slowing !!!!

Weak me, fedor still sucks. (former fan, hate the fake tactics and can fighting)

Only think they do is, looking to make money !

obviously its all about money, cuz fedor clearly doesnt give a sh*t about his legacy or whatever, fighting old men like pedro rizzo. not that it matters to his fans, he could beat up an old lady on the street and you guys would find a way to justify it and say she was a worthy opponent.

Brock Sucks too!!!!!!! But everyone has him in the top 5. Fought 8 times and only won 5 fights. A 80 yr old Randy Couture, Washup (not a prime) HEath Herring, Some japanese dude in his first fight, a Creatine eating Shane "cramps" or dehydrated Carwin, Frank Mir after his bike reck.

    Who has Brock fought????

Submitted by Mir, Killed by Cain, and Kicked by Alistar Overeem.
