Bellator 45 delivered an exciting night of fights tonight from the L'Auberge du Lac Resort in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  In the headlining bout, Christian M'Pumbu was crowned the promotion's inaugural Light Heavyweight Champion after dropping Richard Hale late in the third-round and raining down a series of fight ending blows to force the stoppage.  The co-main event featured more Season 4 Tournament final action as Patricio "Pitbull" Freire outworked Daniel Straus to score a unanimous decision victory, while Sam Alvey picked up a close split decision over Karl Amoussou in the main card opener.

Both Light Heavyweight Tournament Champion Christian M'Pumbu and  Featherweight Tournament Champion Patricio Freire are rewarded a $100k cash prize.  In addition, Freire earns a future shot at 145-pound title holder Joe Warren.

Patricio Freire def. Daniel Straus via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
